Tania Saleh
Tania Saleh ( ar, تانيا صالح; born March 11, 1969) is a Lebanese singer-songwriter, present in the Arabic independent musical scene since 1990. Early life Tania Saleh is a Lebanese singer, songwriter and visual artist. She is considered one of the founders of the Arabic independent alternative musical scene in Lebanon in the Arab world. Her voice is viewed as a mixture of traditional Arabic music with Western sounds. The themes of interest in her music include social and political turmoil in Lebanon (Saleh was six years old when the Lebanese civil war began). Since her debut in 1990, she has experimented with various musical genres, which has resulted in a mix of Lebanese music flavored with folk, alternative rock, bossa nova, jazz, and most recently electronic music. Issam Hajali
Issam Hajali is a Lebanese jazz and folk rock musician. In 1975, when the civil war in Lebanon started, he was a guitarist of a progressive rock band Rainbow Bridge in Beirut. In 1976, Hajali, who was politically ultra-left, fled Lebanon with his wife, first to Cyprus, and then to Paris, where he stayed in 1977, before going back to Beirut. In his last week in Paris, Hajali, together with Rogér Fakhr, another Lebanese musician, and a number of musicians from various countries, whose names were eventually lost, recorded his debut album, ''Mouasalt Ila Jacad El Ard''. The record combined santur with the Western-style music with vocals, jazz guitars, and synthesizers. The texts were taken from Palestinian revolutionary poet Samih al-Qasim. Erik Hillestad
Erik Hillestad (born 12 December 1951) is a Norwegian record producer and lyricist. He is founder and manager of the company and record label Kirkelig Kulturverksted. He has received several awards for his works, including a 1992 Fritt Ord Honorary Award. Personal life Hillestad was born in Oslo, a son of priest Olaf Ludvig Zwilgmeyer Hillestad and Sigrid Engeset. He married Marianne Lystrup in 1971, and is a brother-in-law of Geirr Lystrup. Career Hillestad established in 1974 the record company Kirkelig Kulturverksted, for which he has produced a large part of the releases. Internationally he has worked with music collaborations focusing on human rights and solidarity. The Stockholm International Film Festival ( sv, Stockholms filmfestival, italic=no) is an annual film festival held in Stockholm, Sweden. It was launched in 1990 and has been held every year since then during the second half of November. The film premiered during the 2011 Cannes Film Festival as part of Un Certain Regard . The film was selected to represent Lebanon for the 84th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist. Khaled Mouzanar
Khaled Mouzanar (born September 27, 1974) is a Lebanese music composer, songwriter, writer and film producer. He has composed music scores for several films, including ''After Shave'', ''Caramel'', ''Where Do We Go Now?'' and '' Capernaum (film)''. In 2008, he recorded ''Les Champs Arides'', his first solo album as a singer and songwriter. His work is rooted in various genres, including classical, contemporary and folk music.
