Tancred (band)
Tancred is the stage name of former Now, Now guitarist Jess Abbott. As Tancred, Abbott has released four full-length albums to date. Her first album, titled ''Capes'', was released in 2011 on No Sleep Records. In 2013, Abbott signed to Topshelf Records and released her self-titled second full-length album. In 2016, Abbott signed to Polyvinyl Records and released her third full-length album titled ''Out of the Garden''. On March 27, 2018, she premiered her new single ''Reviews'' and announced an album, ''Nightstand'', that was released on June 1, 2018 via Polyvinyl. ''Out of the Garden'' was recorded by OFF!’s Steven McDonald and That Dog.’s Anna Waronker, and was praised by many outlets, including NPR Music, which declared: "''Out of the Garden'' is just phenomenal... this to me feels like a breakthrough." Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Sadie Dupuis
Sadie Dupuis (born Sarah Dupuis; July 8, 1988) is an American musician who is the guitarist, lead vocalist and lyricist for the band Speedy Ortiz and formerly for the band Quilty. She has also released two solo albums, ''Slugger'' and ''Haunted Painting'', under the name Sad13. Dupuis has published two books of poetry. A portrait of her was featured on the August 22, 2022 cover of The New Yorker. Early life and education Dupuis began playing music as a child, singing in choirs and playing piano. She joined a professional choir in middle school and toured internationally with it through high school. She learned to play guitar at the age of 13. When she was 14, she spent a year studying at Kent School, a private co-educational college preparatory school in Kent, Connecticut. Riot Fest is an annual three-day punk rock music festival based in Chicago, Illinois, at Douglass Park. It is known for booking reunions, guest performances, and full album performances. Riot Fest remains one of the largest independently owned music festivals in the United States. Foxing is an American indie rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. The band has released four studio albums, a live album, an EP and 12 singles. History Foxing began in 2011 following the end of the group Hunter Gatherer, a post-rock band active from 2008 to 2010 that featured Josh Coll, Jon Hellwig and Matthew Piva. The initial lineup of the band shortly expanded to include Conor Murphy, who was then the bassist of the then active emo group Family Might and formerly the vocalist of the indie/post-rock band Torchlight Red.
