Tamgha-i-Jurat
Tamgha-i-Jurat ( ur, تمغہِ جرأت, , Medal of Courage), is the fourth highest military award of Pakistan. This citation is awarded for extraordinary heroism while engaged in armed combat with an opposing force on Pakistan soil or outside its borders. The award was established in 1957 after Pakistan became a republic, however, it was instituted retrospectively back to 1947. This medal is awarded for various types of high risk tactical missions like combat, tactical reconnaissance and infiltration and can be bestowed upon all ranks, commissioned officers and non-commissioned officers, in the Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, and the paramilitary Civil Armed Forces such as the Frontier Corps, the Frontier Constabulary and the Pakistan Rangers. Derek Joseph
Lieutenant Colonel Derek Joseph ( hy, Դերեկ Ջոզեֆ) (1945–2021) was a Pakistan army officer of Armenian origin and a veteran of Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Joseph joined the Pakistan army in 1969 and later fought in Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, during which he is claimed to have destroyed seven Indian tanks. He was awarded Tamgha-i-Jurat for his actions during the war. After the war, Joseph chose to be sent on deputation to United Arab Emirates Armed Forces where he served for three years before returning to Pakistan. He retired in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Personal life Joseph was born on 13 November 1945 in Peshawar, North-West Frontier Province, British India. Muhammad Hamidullah Khan, TJ, Sitara-e-Harb, BP ( bn, এম হামিদুল্লাহ খান; 11 September 1938 – 30 December 2011) was a military leader in two wars fought in South Asia: the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and the Bangladesh Independence War in 1971. Career During the 1965 Indo-Pakistan War, Hamidullah was awarded the Tamgha-i-Jurat Gallantry Medal for his courage and '' Sitara-e-Harb'' War Medal for his dedication in the September 1965 Pathankot infiltration. Imtiazi Sanad ( ur, امتیازی سناد) is the fifth-highest Pakistani military award for gallantry or distinguished service in combat. Col Mirza Hassan Khan
Mirza Hassan Khan ( ur, ), of Nagar state, was a captain of the 6th Infantry of the Jammu and Kashmir State Forces. Placed at Bunji in the Gilgit ''wazarat'' (now Astore district, Gilgit-Baltistan), Khan rebelled against the Maharaja's regime after his accession to India and participated in the overthrow of the governor of Gilgit in November 1947. He later fought in the First Kashmir War as part of Gilgit rebel forces under the command of Colonel Aslam Khan and rose to become a colonel in the Pakistan Army. After leaving the army, he founded the Gilgit League to protest against the Pakistan's ad-hoc administration of Gilgit-Baltistan. Early life Khan was born in Gilgit in 1919. Captain Asfand Yar Bukhari Shaheed
The 2015 Camp Badaber attack occurred on 18 September 2015, when 14 Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants attempted to storm Camp Badaber, a Pakistan Air Force base located in Badaber, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The attack killed 25–29 security personnel, including Captain Asfandyar Bukhari of the Pakistan Army, who was responding to the attack as part of a quick-reaction force. All 14 militants were killed in combat with Pakistani forces, according to claims by security officials.
