Tři Sestry
Tři sestry (Czech for "three sisters") is a Czech punk band formed in 1985 in Prague. Some of their later material has fallen into a more general rock genre, and they have also dabbled in hardcore punk. The band experienced the peak of their popularity in the 1990s and have played at the Masters of Rock music festival in 2005 and 2011. Their main songwriter and lead singer is Lou Fanánek Hagen. The other current members of the band are Veronika Borovková (harmonica, vocals), Tomáš Doležal (bass), Ronald Seitl (guitar), Zdeněk Petr (guitar), Rostislav Cerman (guitar), Petr Lukeš (drums), and Martin Roušar (saxophone, clarinet). The Adicts
The Adicts are a British punk rock band from Ipswich, Suffolk, England. A popular English punk rock band of the 1980s, they were often in the indie charts during that decade. The Adicts originated as The Afterbirth in late 1975 but never had any music or played any shows. They later became The Pinz. They soon changed their name to the Adicts and became known for their distinctive '' Clockwork Orange'' "droog" image. "Droog" is a noun derived from the fictional Nadsat language, meaning "friend" (a combination of Russian and English). This image, along with their urgent, uptempo music and light-hearted lyrics, helped set them apart from other punk bands. In the 1980s, they temporarily changed their name to Fun Adicts (for a children's TV appearance) and then ADX (after signing to a major label). Horkýže Slíže is a Slovak rock band formed on the 4th November 1992, in Nitra. At the beginning of their career, they mainly played hard rock, later comedy rock, which is also referred to as naive punk.Today, the band focuses exclusively on punk rock. Their lyrics are known for their humorous content and they sometimes produce parodies of other styles of music, such as 'R'n'B Soul', which is a clear take-off of contemporary R&B styles. Divokej Bill is a Czech folk rock band formed in 1998 in Úvaly, near Prague. The band takes its name from Wild Bill Hickok, and blend country music influences with punk rock, folk, and alternative rock sounds. Peter and the Test Tube Babies are an English punk rock band, formed in Peacehaven, Sussex in 1978, by Derek "Strangefish" Greening and Peter Bywaters. Due to their humorous tongue-in-cheek lyrics, they have been considered part of the Punk pathetique subgenre. The Damned (band)
The Damned are an English rock band formed in London in 1976 by lead vocalist Dave Vanian, guitarist Brian James, bassist (and later guitarist) Captain Sensible and drummer Rat Scabies. They were the first punk band from the United Kingdom to release a single, " New Rose" (1976), release a studio album, '' Damned Damned Damned'' (1977) and tour the United States. Nine of the band's singles charted on the UK Singles Chart Top 40. The band briefly dissolved after '' Music for Pleasure'' (1977), the follow-up to their debut studio album, was critically dismissed. They quickly reformed without Brian James and released '' Machine Gun Etiquette'' (1979). Sham 69
Sham 69 are an English punk rock band that formed in Hersham in Surrey in 1975. They changed their musical direction after seeing the Sex Pistols play live in early 1976. They were one of the most successful punk bands in the United Kingdom, achieving five top 20 singles, including "If the Kids Are United" and "Hurry Up Harry". The group's popularity saw them perform on the BBC’s ''Top of the Pops'', and they appeared in the rockumentary film ''D.O.A.: A Rite of Passage, D.O.A.''. Dead Boys
The Dead Boys are an American punk rock band from Cleveland, Ohio. The band was among the first wave of punk, and regarded by many as one of the rowdiest and most violent groups of the era. They were formed by vocalist Stiv Bators, rhythm guitarist Jimmy Zero, bassist Jeff Magnum, lead guitarist Cheetah Chrome, and drummer Johnny Blitz in 1975, with the latter two having splintered from the band Rocket from the Tombs. The original Dead Boys released two studio albums, '' Young, Loud and Snotty'', and '' We Have Come for Your Children''. Punk rock (also known as simply punk) is a rock music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s.
