Behçet Türkmen
Behçet Türkmen (9 May 1899 – 16 December 1968) was a Turkish soldier and intelligence officer. He graduated from the Turkish Military Academy. On 1 September 1931, he was appointed chief of staff to the National Police Service Race. Later he served in the Turkish Armed Forces at various levels. He was appointed head of the National Police with the rank of major general on 3 September 1953 and remained in the post until 27 March 1957 with the rank of lieutenant general. The same year he was appointed to the Baghdad Embassy and later to the Stockholm Embassy. In the latter post he also served as non-resident ambassador of Turkey to Norway. Cem Tuna Türkmen (born 29 March 2002) is a footballer who plays as a midfielder for Süper Lig club Ankaragücü. Born in Germany, Türkmen is a youth international for Turkey. Elif Doğan Türkmen
Elif Doğan Türkmen (born 1 January 1962) is a Turkish politician from the Republican People's Party (CHP), who has served as a Member of Parliament for Adana since 7 June 2015. Born in Adana, Türkmen graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law and worked as a lawyer in Adana. Coming from a traditionally social democrat family, she had previously been involved in SODEP and was a founding member of the Social Democratic Populist Party (SHP) Women's wing. She joined the CHP after the latter two parties were dissolved. She has been involved in many projects to help women and development in Adana, with some backed by the European Union. Married with one child, she was elected as a CHP Member of Parliament in the June 2015 general election. During the election campaign, she was shot and injured by one of her clients. Gökhan Türkmen (born 1 September 1983) is a Turkish singer. Life and career Türkmen was born in 1983 in Istanbul. He started learning guitar in 1997. He is a graduate of Habire Yahşi High School. In 2000, he started his career by playing guitar and singing at various places. In 2003, he graduated from Kocaeli University with a degree in industrial management. İlter Türkmen (8 November 1927 – 6 July 2022) was a Turkish diplomat and politician. Life and career Türkmen was the son of Behçet Türkmen (1899–1968), who between 1953 and 1957 was the director of the Turkish National Security Service (MAH).
