Tørberget Church
Tørberget Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Trysil Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the village of Tørberget. It is the church for the Tørberget parish which is part of the Sør-Østerdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Hamar. The brown, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1933 using plans drawn up by the architect. The church seats about 150 people. History Planning for a new church in Tørberget began in the 1920s. A cemetery was established on the site on 3 August 1924. Soon after, people began pushing for a chapel to be built on the same site. The designs were drawn up by the , the governmental building office which oversaw construction projects. The lead builders were Harald Brænd and Gj. Floden. Originally designed to be an annex chapel, the building was consecrated on 19 March 1933 with Crown Prince Olav and Crown Princess Märtha present. Nybergsund is a village in Trysil Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located about south of the village of Innbygda which is the municipal centre of Trysil. The village is best known for serving as a hiding place for the Norwegian royal family and Cabinet and sustaining German bombing during the German conquest of Norway. Hallgeir Brenden (10 February 1929 – 21 September 2007) was a Norway, Norwegian cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier and Steeplechase (athletics), steeplechase runner. He competed in various skiing events at the 1952, 1956 and 1960 Winter Olympics and won two individual gold medals in 1952 and 1956 and two silver medals in the 4 × 10 km relay in 1952 and 1960.
