Tønsberg District Court () was a district court (Norway), district court in southeastern Vestfold county, Norway. The court was based in Tønsberg. The court existed until 2019. It historically had jurisdiction over the municipalities of Andebu Municipality, Andebu, Nøtterøy Municipality, Nøtterøy, Stokke Municipality, Stokke, Tjøme Municipality, Tjøme, and Tønsberg Municipality, Tønsberg. Due to municipal mergers during the 2010s, by the time the court was abolished in 2019, it only had jurisdiction over Tønsberg Municipality and Færder Municipality. Cases from this court could be appealed to Agder Court of Appeal. The court was a court of first instance. Its judicial duties were mainly to settle criminal cases and to resolve civil litigation as well as bankruptcy. Vestfold
Vestfold () is a county and a current electoral district in Norway. Located on the western shore of the Oslofjord, it borders Buskerud and Telemark counties. The county administration is located in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest city, and the largest city is Sandefjord. With the exception of the city-county of Oslo, Vestfold is the smallest county in Norway by area. Vestfold is located west of the Oslofjord, as the name indicates. Borre Municipality
Borre is a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1988. Borre was merged with Horten in 1988, and the new municipality bore the name Borre until after a public referendum regarding the name in 2002. The administrative centre was the village of Borre.
