Tërmet Peçi
Tërmet Peçi (; born 31 August 1972) is an Albanian politician and member of the Socialist Party of Albania. Since September 2025, he serves as a Member of the Albanian Parliament representing Gjirokastër County. He previously served as Mayor of Tepelenë from June 2011 until March 2025. Peçi was first elected mayor following the 2011 local elections and was re-elected for subsequent terms. In March 2025, he resigned from his mayoral position to run as a candidate in the Elections in Albania, parliamentary elections. After his resignation, Deputy Mayor Julinda Karteri was appointed acting mayor of Tepelenë. References

The Parliament of Albania () or Kuvendi is the unicameral representative body of the citizens of the Republic of Albania; it is Albania's legislature. The Parliament is composed of no less than 140 members elected to a four-year term on the basis of direct, universal, periodic and equal suffrage by secret ballot. The Parliament is presided over by the Speaker, who is assisted by at least one deputy speaker. The electoral system is based on party-list proportional representation. Gjirokastër County () is one of the 12 counties of Albania. The total population in 2023 was 60,013, in an area of 2884 km2. Its capital is the city Gjirokastër. Tepelenë
Tepelenë ( sq-definite, Tepelena) is a city and a municipality in Gjirokastër County, in the south of Albania. The town is on the left bank of the Vjosa River, about three kilometres downstream from its union with the Drino. Until the abolition of Districts of Albania, Districts in 2000, Tepelenë was the seat of the Tepelenë District. Its location is strategically important and there is a ruined citadel occupying a point 300 metres above the river. Ali Pasha of Tepelenë, Ali Pashalik of Yanina, Pasha of Yanina was born at the nearby village of Beçisht, and Tepelena along with Ioannina were Ali's headquarters. In 1847, the British writer Edward Lear visited the town and noted the devastated buildings. Eqrem Çabej University is a university in the Albanian town of Gjirokastër, named after Eqrem Çabej. It is one of nine SIFE accredited universities in Albania. It was created as a University with the name of "Eqrem Çabej" with decision of the Albanian Government nr. 414, dated 12 November 1991, on the basis of the Higher Institute of Pedagogy that was already established in 1971. It is the most important teaching and scientific institute of Southern Albania. Elections In Albania
Regular elections in Albania are mandated by the Constitution and legislation enacted by Parliament. The Parliament (''Kuvendi'') has 140 members elected for four-year terms. The president is elected by parliament. The current Electoral Code of Albania (2024) provides the legal framework for conducting parliamentary elections in the country. The electoral system is a mixed electoral system combining closed and open list proportional representation. There are 12 multi-member constituencies corresponding to the country's 12 administrative regions. Under the 2024 amendments to the Electoral Code, party lists are divided into two parts: one-third of the candidates are placed on a closed list determined by party leadership, while two-thirds are subject to open list preferential voting.
