Tårup IF
Tårup is a village in central Denmark, located in Nyborg municipality on the island of Funen in Region of Southern Denmark. History Tårup was first mentioned in 1361 as Thorpe. The name comes from the Danish word 'torp', translating to a settlement with a population from another village - in this case Frørup. Through the Middle Ages most of Tårup was owned by the crown. Tårup Church Tårup Church is located in Tårup, and was built in 1883 by Jens Eckersberg. The church's current organ is from 2001. A model ship was bought during the church's 100-year anniversary in 1983. The ship is a model of a ship that sailed in the Great Belt Strait when the church was built in 1883. Region Of Southern Denmark
The Region of Southern Denmark (, ; , ; ) is an administrative region of Denmark established on Monday 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, which abolished the traditional counties ("amter") and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 270 ( 271 before 2006) before 1 January 2007 to 98. The reform diminished the power of the regional level dramatically in favor of the local level and the central government in Copenhagen. The Region of Southern Denmark has 22 municipalities. The reform was implemented in Denmark on 1 January 2007, although the merger of the Funish municipalities of Ærøskøbing and Marstal, being a part of the reform, was given the go-ahead to be implemented on Sunday 1 January 2006, one year before the main reform. Funen
Funen (, ), is the third-largest List of islands of Denmark, island of Denmark, after Zealand and North Jutlandic Island, Vendsyssel-Thy, with an area of . Frørup
Frørup is a village in central Denmark, located in Nyborg Municipality on the island of Funen in the Region of Southern Denmark. Frørup was a part of Ørbæk Municipality until 2007. History Frørup is first mentioned in 1231 under the name ''Frøthorp''. Between 1897 and 1964, Frørup was a station on the Svendborg-Nyborg railroad. The station in Frørup was designed by Heinrich Wenck. Frørup Church Frørup Church was built around 1140. On the cemetery is a tombstone from the 1200s, belonging to an ironsmith named Mads Pebling.
