Tân An (Đồng Nai)
Tân An is the capital city of Long An Province in Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. It was upgraded from town status to city status on 26 August 2009. The population of Tân An is 165,214 as of 2009, with an area of 81.79 km2. It comprises nine wards (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Khánh Hậu and Tân Khánh), and five communes (An Vĩnh Ngãi, Bình Tâm, Hướng Thọ Phú, Lợi Bình Nhơn and Nhơn Thạnh Trung). Provincial City (Vietnam)
A provincial city () is a type of list of district-level subdivisions in Vietnam, second-level subdivision of Vietnam. It has equal status along with list of urban districts of Vietnam, urban districts, district (Vietnam), districts, municipal city, municipal cities, and district-level town, towns. Also by virtue of Decree No. 42/2009/ND-CP, provincial cities are officially classified into Class-1, Class-2 or Class-3. The cities can only subordinate to provinces as a second-tier unit. Nguyễn Dynasty
The Nguyễn dynasty (, chữ Nôm: 茹阮, chữ Hán: 朝阮) was the last List of Vietnamese dynasties, Vietnamese dynasty, preceded by the Nguyễn lords and ruling unified Vietnam independently from 1802 until French protectorate in 1883. 9th Infantry Division (United States)
The 9th Infantry Division (nicknamed "Old Reliables") is an inactive infantry division of the United States Army. It was formed as the 9th Division during World War I, but never deployed overseas. In later years it was an important unit of the U.S. Army during World War II and the Vietnam War. August Revolution
The August Revolution (), also known as the August General Uprising (), was a revolution led by the Việt Minh against the Empire of Vietnam from 16 August to 2 September 1945. The Empire of Vietnam was led by the Nguyễn dynasty and was a puppet state of Empire of Japan, Japan within the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. The Việt Minh, a political league ''de facto'' led by the Indochinese Communist Party, Communist Party, was created in 1941 and designed to appeal to a wider population than the communists could command. Ngô Đình Diệm
Ngô Đình Diệm ( , or ; ; 3 January 1901 – 2 November 1963) was a South Vietnamese politician who was the final prime minister of the State of Vietnam (1954–1955) and later the first president of South Vietnam ( Republic of Vietnam) from 1955 until his capture and assassination during the CIA-backed 1963 coup d'état. Diệm was born into a prominent Catholic family with his father, Ngô Đình Khả, being a high-ranking mandarin for Emperor Thành Thái during the French colonial era. Diệm was educated at French-speaking schools and considered following his brother Ngô Đình Thục into the priesthood, but eventually chose to pursue a career in the civil service.
