TÜRASAŞ () is a railway manufacturer based in Ankara resulted in the merging of TÜLOMSAŞ, TÜVASAŞ and TÜDEMSAŞ, announced in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Turkey on 4 March 2020. After the forming of TÜRARAŞ, TÜLOMSAŞ TÜVASAŞ and TÜDEMSAŞ were dissolved, and all respective facilities were handed to TÜRASAŞ. TCDD E44000
TCDD E44000, also referred to as the "National Electric Train" () by the media, is a model of electric trainset produced by TÜVASAŞ (now under TÜRASAŞ) for TCDD Taşımacılık. Trains started to be delivered to the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) on 27 April 2023. Usage The first unit produced for TCDD Transport was delivered to the Adapazarı railway station, Adapazarı train station on 27 April 2023. After being exhibited at various stations in Istanbul in May, the train made its inaugural journey on May 27 along the Adapazarı-Gebze line. TÜRASAŞ plans to export E44000 units to European Union countries in the following years. Design The trains operational speed is at , with a design speed of . The trains can consist of 3, 4, 5 or 6 cars depending on demand. The capacity of 5-car sets are 324 people. TÜLOMSAŞ
TÜLOMSAŞ () was a locomotive and wagon builder in Turkey. It was the main locomotive supplier of the Turkish State Railways and was one of the two companies that designed and assembled locomotives in Turkey along with EUROTEM. The company headquarters and factory was located in Eskişehir. The company built GE PowerHaul locomotives under a partnership with GE Transportation. TÜVASAŞ
Turkish Wagon Industry, Inc. (), more commonly known as TÜVASAŞ, was a Turkish railcar manufacturer based in Adapazarı. TÜVASAŞ was responsible for the construction, refurbishment and repair of railcars for the Turkish State Railways (TCDD), of which it was a 100% shareholder, reporting directly to the Turkish Ministry of Transport. The company was founded in 1951 as Vagon Tamir Atölyesi (Wagon Repair Shop) to repair existing railcars of TCDD's fleet. TÜVASAŞ became the largest railcar manufacturer in the Middle East. The headquarters were in the Adapazarı Plant in Mithatpaşa, a neighborhood of Adapazarı. TÜVASAŞ and two other rail companies (TÜLOMSAŞ and TÜDEMSAŞ) merged under the umbrella of one company, TÜRASAŞ. TVS2000
The TÜVASAŞ 2000, more commonly known as TVS2000, is a series of intercity railcars built by TÜVASAŞ for the Turkish State Railways between 1993 and 2005. They were built in order to revive TCDD's failing image in the early 1990s, for use on the Capital Express. Today they are the most common railcars in Turkey. History TCDD's image was failing greatly in the early 1990s and its Ankara−Istanbul mainline was losing market-share to roads. People mostly chose buses over rail for travel, because TCDD's fleet of railcars were aging quickly. The railways' premier train at the time, the Fatih Express was using Black-Red Intercity cars, which were noisy, uncomfortable and without air conditioning which made the interior very hot during the summer times. During winter times, the steam heater on board the cars always broke down or malfunctioned causing problems.
