Tyra Axnér
Tyra Axnér (born 18 March 2002) is a German-born Swedish handball player who plays for Metz Handball and the Swedish national team. She represented Sweden at the 2019 European Women's U-17 Handball Championship, where she received silver. She also participated at the 2021 Women's U-19 European Handball Championship. She is the daughter of the Swedish women's national team coach and former handball player Tomas Axnér. She was born in Minden in Germany, as her father was active playing in GWD Minden at the time. Her mother is also of partial French descent. Minden () is a middle-sized town in the very north-east of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, the largest town in population between Bielefeld and Hanover. The Women's EHF European League is an annual competition for women's handball clubs of Europe. It is organized by the European Handball Federation, EHF. It is currently the second-tier competition of European club handball, ranking only below the Women's EHF Champions League, EHF Champions League. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
