Tyler O’Neill
Tyler Alan O'Neill (born June 22, 1995) is a Canadian professional baseball outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox. He has represented Canada in international play, winning a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American games. Listed at and , he throws and bats right-handed. The Seattle Mariners selected O'Neill in the third round of the 2013 MLB draft. In 2016, he was the Southern League Most Valuable Player (MVP). On July 21, 2017, the Mariners traded him to the Cardinals. After making his MLB debut in 2018, O'Neill struggled with injuries and split time between MLB and the minor leagues for two seasons before he became the Cardinals' starting left fielder in 2020, winning his first Gold Glove Award. An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. Baseball At The 2015 Pan American Games – Men's Tournament
The men's baseball tournament at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada was held at the Pan Am Ball Park in Ajax, Ontario from July 11 to 19. Two fields hosted competition, with the main one holding 4,000 spectators and the secondary one holding 1,000 seats. For these Games, the men competed in a 7-team tournament. The teams were grouped into one single pool and all teams played each other in a round-robin preliminary round. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals. Bakersfield Blaze
The Bakersfield Blaze were a minor league baseball team in Bakersfield, California. They played in the California League at the Class A-Advanced level, hosting home games at Sam Lynn Ballpark. Opened in 1941, the stadium is well known for facing the setting sun and its shallow center field fence, and seats 3,500 fans. Near the end of the 2008 season, it was rumored that the Blaze would move to the Carolina League after the following season. However, Minor League Baseball president Pat O'Conner announced in February 2009 that they would remain in the California League. The Blaze were sold to local Bakersfield businessmen Gene Voiland and Chad Hathaway just prior to the 2012 season. Langley Blaze
The Langley Blaze is a youth baseball team located in the city of Langley, British Columbia. The Langley Blaze was founded in 2001 by Doug Mathieson, a former right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball's (MLB) minor leagues for seven years. The Blaze's home field is located in the McLeod Athletic Park which was completed in 2003. Before the completion, the Blaze played at City Park. They are part of the B.C. Premier Baseball League. They are always a strong contender in the league. Doug Mathieson continues to be the GM for the Langley Blaze and is also the Canada/Alaska Area Scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
