TuttoTotò
''TuttoTotò'' ('AllTotò') is an Italian television series in 9 episodes Totò produced in 1967, during the last few months of his life. His intention was to recycle for the small screen all those theatre sketches he had interpreted in his golden years. The series aired posthumously. Plot Each episode, which lasts about 50 minutes long, has its own logical thread; but the element that makes it funny and interesting is the infinite collection of sketches that Toto had created during his theatrical career that was then included in the films. Antonio Griffo Focas Flavio Angelo Ducas Comneno Porfirogenito Gagliardi De Curtis di Bisanzio (15 February 1898 – 15 April 1967), best known by his stage name Totò (), or simply as Antonio de Curtis, and nicknamed ''il principe della risata'' ("the prince of laughter"), was an Italian actor, comedian, screenwriter, dramatist, poet, singer and lyricist. He is commonly referred to as one of the most popular Italian performers of all time. Daniele D'Anza (20 April 1922 – 12 April 1984) was an Italian director, playwright and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Milan, D'Anza started his career on stage, in which he is best known for the direction of the antimilitarist play ''Venticinque metri di fango'' that he presented in Milan in 1946, raising several controversities as well as critical appreciation. Another of his works, the rivista ''Tempo di musica'', a satire of Italian history from the 1930s to the 1950s, was heavily censored, being first banned and later allowed only after having received heavy cuts. He is regarded as a pioneer of Italian television, for which he worked since the early 1950s, when RAI started experimental broadcasting before starting the regular TV service. Bruno Corbucci
Bruno Corbucci (23 October 1931 – 7 September 1996) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He was the younger brother of Sergio Corbucci and wrote many of his films. He was born in Rome, where he also died. The vast majority of his directorial efforts are lowbrow comedies. He also directed ''I figli del leopardo'', a parody of ''The Leopard (1963 film), Il gattopardo''. His biggest success came with the long-running "Nico Giraldi" series, which starred Tomas Milian as a foul-mouthed Roman policeman. His 1971 film ''Io non spezzo... rompo'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Mario Amendola
Mario Natalino Concetto Amendola (8 December 1910 – 22 December 1993) was an Italian screenwriter, film director and dramatist. Biography Amendola was born in Recco, which is located in Genova to parents from Rome. He began his career on stage in 1931 as a writer for avanspettacolo shows. During that time, he wrote dialogue for Erminio Macario, Totò and more. He ended this profession and moved to cinema in 1949. He wrote for 153 films between 1941 and 1987. He also directed 37 films between 1949 and 1975. Amendola collaborated with Bruno Corbucci on conceiving the Nico Giraldi film series starring Tomas Milian. Amendola died on December 12, 1993, from complications from diabetes. Lauretta Masiero (25 October 1927 – 23 March 2010) was an Italian actress and singer. Early life and career Venetian-born Lauretta Masiero debuted in the theater of varieties as a dancer with Wanda Osiris. In 1945 she debuted with Erminio Macario. In 1962 she began acting in films. She worked with such stars as Totò, Ugo Tognazzi, Johnny Dorelli, Raimondo Vianello and Oreste Lionello. She portrayed the protagonist in the television series, ''The Adventures of Storm Laura''. Death Masiero died on 23 March 2010, aged 82, in a clinic in Rome, following a long hospitalization from Alzheimer's disease.
