Turramurra is a suburb on the Upper North Shore of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Ku-ring-gai Council is a local government area in Northern Sydney ( Upper North Shore), in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The area is named after a fictional Aboriginal language group. Major transport routes through the area include the Pacific Highway and North Shore railway line. Because of its good soils and elevated position as part of the Hornsby Plateau, Ku-ring-gai was originally covered by a large area of dry sclerophyll forest, parts of which still remain and form a component of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Lewy Miall Pattinson (10 March 1852January 1944) was an English businessman, who founded the pharmaceutical firm Soul Patts. Early life and immigration from England Lewy Miall Pattinson was born to parents Wiliam Pattinson and Annie Sinclair on 10 March 1852 in Hexham, England. He had three siblings William, Matthew and Annie. Pattinson married Mary Jane Parker in July 1887 in Tynemouth, England. Pattinson had a background in engineering with the family company Pattinson and Davison, but later gained exposure to the pharmaceutical industry through his brother William, which led him to explore opportunities in this field in Sydney, Australia which he visited in 1881. Federation architecture is the architectural style in Australia that was prevalent from around 1890 to 1915. The name refers to the Federation of Australia on 1 January 1901, when the British colonies of Australia collectively became the Commonwealth of Australia. Henry Braddon
Sir Henry Yule Braddon (27 April 1863 – 8 September 1955) was an Australian diplomat, businessman and rugby union player who played for Otago, New South Wales and New Zealand. The position he generally played in was fullback. He is listed as the second All Black in playing order. Early life He was born on 27 April 1863 in Calcutta, India to Alice Smith and (Sir) Edward Braddon, later Premier of Tasmania (1894–1899). John Sulman
Sir John Sulman (29 August 1849 – 18 August 1934) was an Australian architect. Born in Greenwich, England, he emigrated to Sydney in 1885. From 1921 to 1924 he was chairman of the Federal Capital Advisory Committee and influenced the development of Canberra.
