Turoš (Croatia)
Turoš is a type of cheese made from cattle's milk. It is a traditional food in the north Croatian region of Međimurje County, Međimurje. Turoš is made by cone (geometry), cone-shaping chunks of cottage cheese, with the addition of salt and paprika, red paprika. Because it is spiced with red paprika, the cheese is usually light orange (color), orange or apricot (color), apricot in colour. The height of the cones is usually around 6 centimetres. Upon shaping, the cheese is left to dry in smoking (cooking), smoke or sunlight over a few days. The name ''turoš'' comes from the homophone, homophonous Hungarian language, Hungarian word ''túrós'', meaning "of cottage cheese" or "of quark (cheese), curd cheese". ''Meridian'' is a comic book series published by CrossGen Comics. It was written by Barbara Kesel, and penciled by a number of artists including Joshua Middleton and Steve McNiven. Quark (cheese)
Quark or quarg is a type of fresh dairy product made from milk. The milk is soured, usually by adding lactic acid bacteria cultures, and strained once the desired curdling is achieved. It can be classified as fresh acid-set cheese. Traditional quark can be made without rennet, but in modern dairies small quantities of rennet are typically added. It is soft, white and unaged, and usually has no salt added.
