Trần Thị Lý
Trần Thị Lý (née Trần Thị Nhâm, 30 December 1933 in Điện Quang, Điện Bàn District, Quảng Nam – 20 November 1992 in Đà Nẵng) was a Vietnamese communist party member, who was imprisoned and tortured in Saigon. She is the granddaughter of Trần Cao Vân. The Tran Thi Ly Bridge, Nguyễn Văn Trỗi – Trần Thị Lý Bridge is named after her and a fellow revolutionary, Nguyễn Văn Trỗi. Since 1956, Lý worked as a liaison officer for the People's Army of Vietnam in Điện Bàn but the same year, she was arrested on her commute to work by the South Vietnamese. After being tortured for 2 years and being left for dead by her captors, she was flown to the Vietnam – Soviet Friendship Hospital in Hanoi, weighing just , having 42 wounds across her body, with cut nipples and bleeding genitals. South Vietnam, officially the Republic of Vietnam (RVN; , VNCH), was a country in Southeast Asia that existed from 1955 to 1975. Hero Of The People's Armed Forces
The Hero of the People's Armed Forces () is an honorary designation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Criteria The title (and medal) of Hero of the People's Armed Force is awarded to individuals with "exceptionally outstanding achievements in combat, combat service and work, represent the revolutionary heroism in the cause of national liberation, national defense and the protection the people". The award also goes to collectives that meet this standard and are loyal to the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, have maintained good internal unity, a clean and strong Party record, and mass organizations. Điện Bàn
Điện Bàn () is a Districts of Vietnam, district-level town of Quảng Nam Province in the South Central Coast region of Vietnam. As of 2015 the district had a population of 229,907. The district covers an area of 214.71 km². The district capital lies at Vĩnh Điện. On March 11, 2015, Điện Bàn Town was established based of Điện Bàn District. Điện Nam - Điện Ngọc Industrial Park is located in Điện Bàn. There is a historical citadel site in Vĩnh Điện dating back to 1833, as Điện Bàn has served as political, commercial and cultural town.
