Trà Vinh Province
Trà Vinh () was a former province in the Mekong Delta region of Southern Vietnam. The capital is Trà Vinh City. Etymology Trà Vang was an old name used for this area, a hinterland with a sparse population. In 1825, the area of Trà Vinh was established by King Minh Mạng into Lạc Hóa district also known as chà-văng or chà-vinh. In 1951, the name Vĩnh Trà appeared, a combination of Vĩnh from Vĩnh Long and Trà from Trà Vinh. The name was changed again from Trà Vinh to Vĩnh Bình province in 1957. In 1976, Cửu Long province came to be by merging Vĩnh Long province and Trà Vinh. The name ''Trà Vinh'' comes from the Khmer name of the area ព្រះត្រពាំង , which means ''Sacred pond'' or ''Buddha's pond''. The Vietnamese transliteration gave ''Trà Vang'' and later ''Trà Vinh''. Provinces Of Vietnam
Vietnam is divided into 34 First-level administrative division, first-level subdivisions, comprising 28 provinces () and Municipalities of Vietnam, six municipalities under the command of the central government (). A proposal reported in April 2025 show the number of provinces and cities to be Plan for arrangement and merger of administrative units in Vietnam 2024–2025, reduced to 34 through mergers. Alms
Alms (, ) are money, food, or other material goods donated to people living in poverty. Providing alms is often considered an act of Charity (practice), charity. Phạm Ngũ Lão
Phạm Ngũ Lão (范五老, 1255–1320) was a general of the Trần dynasty during the reigns of three successive emperors Trần Nhân Tông, Nhân Tông, Trần Anh Tông, Anh Tông, and Trần Minh Tông, Minh Tông. His talent was noticed by Prince Hưng Đạo Trần Quốc Tuấn who married his adopted daughter to Phạm Ngũ Lão and recommended him for the royal court. Renowned as a prominent general in battlefield, Phạm Ngũ Lão was one of the few commanders of the Vietnamese army during the second and third Mongol invasions of Vietnam, Mongol invasion who did not come from the Trần clan. After the war of resistance against the Yuan dynasty, Phạm Ngũ Lão continued to participate in numerous military campaigns of the Trần dynasty in which he often succeeded. Duyên Hải (town)
Duyên Hải is a district-level town of Trà Vinh Province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. The town was separated from Duyên Hải District in 2015. Geography The town is located in the southeast of Tra Vinh province, next to Cung Hau estuary of Cổ Chiên River. The east and south border the South China Sea, the north borders with Cầu Ngang district and the west with Duyên Hải district. The town have an overall natural land area is 193.400 m², its terrain are mostly low and flat. Average height falls in 0,4 to 1,2m. Main minerals of the town are mineral water and black sand Black sand is sand that is black in color.
