Barry Trost
Barry M. Trost (born June 13, 1941, in Philadelphia) is an American chemist who is the Job and Gertrud Tamaki Professor Emeritus in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Stanford University. The Tsuji–Trost reaction and the Trost ligand are named after him. He is prominent for advancing the concept of atom economy. Early life and education Trost was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 13, 1941. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania and obtained his B.A. in 1962. He then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for graduate school, where he worked with Herbert O. House on enolate anions, the Mannich reaction, and the Robinson annulation. Trost graduated with his Ph.D. in 1965. Independent career Trost moved to the University of Wisconsin–Madison to begin his independent career, and was promoted to professor of chemistry in 1969, and the Vilas Research Professor in 1982. Carlisle Trost
Carlisle Albert Herman Trost (April 24, 1930 – September 29, 2020) was a United States Navy officer who served as the 23rd Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from July 1, 1986, to June 29, 1990. He oversaw the Navy during the end of the Cold War. He retired from active naval service on July 1, 1990, following completion of a four-year term as CNO. Early life and education Trost was born in Valmeyer, Illinois, on April 24, 1930. Trost graduated first in his United States Naval Academy class of 1953 and was commissioned as an ensign. Al Trost
Alan Trost (born February 7, 1949) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. He played collegiate soccer at Saint Louis University where he won the 1969 and 1970 Hermann Trophy as the player of the year. His professional career includes years in both the North American Soccer League (NASL) and Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He also was a member of the 1972 U.S. Olympic soccer team. He went on to earn 14 caps with the U.S. national team, scoring one goal. He coached professionally with the St. Louis Steamers of MISL and continues to coach youth soccer. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Bradley Ryan Trost (born May 15, 1974) is a former Canadian politician who served as a Conservative Member of Parliament in the House of Commons of Canada, representing the ridings of Saskatoon—Humboldt from 2004 to 2015 and Saskatoon—University from 2015 to 2019. Dolfi or Dolphi Trost (1916 in Brăila – 1966 in Chicago, Illinois) was a Romanian surrealist poet, artist, and theorist, and the instigator of entopic graphomania. Together with Gherasim Luca, he was the author of '' Dialectique de la dialectique'' (1945). He also authored a work entitled ''Le même du même''. He also wrote the book, '' Vision dans le cristal. René Hubertus Johannes Trost (born 31 January 1965) is a Dutch professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of Eerste Klasse club Chevremont. Career Trost played fifteen seasons at Roda JC; in between he spent half a season on loan at VVV-Venlo. He played 323 professional matches and scored 23 goals in them. Trost & Trost Architects & Engineers, often known as Trost & Trost, was an architectural firm based in El Paso, Texas. The firm's chief designer was Henry Charles Trost, who was born in Toledo, Ohio, in 1860. Trost moved from Chicago to Tucson, Arizona in 1899 and to El Paso in 1903. He partnered with Robert Rust to form Trost & Rust. Rust died in 1905 and later that year Trost formed the firm of Trost & Trost with his twin brother Gustavus Adolphus Trost, also an architect, who had joined the firm as a structural engineer. Between 1903 and Henry Trost's death on September 19, 1933, the firm designed hundreds of buildings in the El Paso area and in other Southwestern cities, including Albuquerque, Phoenix, Tucson, and San Angelo.
