The 1994 Triple J Hottest 100, counted down in January 1995, was a countdown of the most popular songs of the year, according to listeners of the Australian radio station Triple J. A CD featuring 32 of the songs was released. A countdown of the videos of most of the songs was also shown on the ABC music series ''Rage''. The Cranberries
The Cranberries were an Irish rock music, rock band formed in Limerick in 1989. The band was composed of lead singer and guitarist Dolores O'Riordan, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan (Noel's brother), and drummer Fergal Lawler. O'Riordan replaced founding member Niall Quinn in 1990. The band, originally named The Cranberry Saw Us, was renamed after the addition of O'Riordan. The band classified themselves as an alternative rock group, but they incorporated into their sound elements of indie rock, jangle pop, dream pop, folk rock, post-punk, and pop rock. "Seether" is a 1994 single by American alternative rock band Veruca Salt. Background The song was written by Veruca Salt singer-guitarist Nina Gordon. "Seether" was more pop-sounding compared to the rest of the band's material. In a 1994 interview with Much (TV channel), MuchMusic, an interviewer suggested that "Seether" could either be about female "animalistic instincts" or bouts of rage. Gordon agreed that her songs' meanings often changed during and after the writing process. "You write a song, think it's about one thing for five minutes....and discover that it's about many different things and working on many different levels." James is an English Rock music, rock band from Manchester, formed in 1982. Severed Heads
Severed Heads were an Australian electronic music group founded in 1979 in music, 1979 as Mr and Mrs No Smoking Sign. The original members were Richard Fielding and Andrew Wright, who were soon joined by Tom Ellard. Fielding and Wright had both left the band by mid-1981 with Ellard remaining the sole consistent member for the rest of the band's existence. Throughout the next decade, several musicians joined Severed Heads' ranks, including Garry Bradbury, Simon Knuckey, Stephen Jones (musician), Stephen Jones and Paul Deering. In 1984 the band released "Dead Eyes Opened" as a single, which was remixed in 1994 and re-released, reaching No. 16 on the ARIA Charts, ARIA Singles Chart. "Dead Eyes Opened" is a song by the experimental Australian group Severed Heads, originally released on their 1983 album ''Since the Accident''. Upon its initial release as a 12-inch record single in 1984, the track received critical success. Max Sharam is an Australian-American multi-disciplinary artist and singer-songwriter. In the mid-1990s, Sharam had three top 40 hit singles in Australia, "Coma", "Be Firm" and "Lay Down", from her top 10 album '' A Million Year Girl'' (1995). She received eight nominations at the ARIA Music Awards of 1995; winning Best Cover Art with Dominic O'Brien for the album.
