Knife Party are an Australian electronic music duo consisting of Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen, two members of the drum and bass band Pendulum. The duo has worked with artists such as Swedish House Mafia, Steve Aoki, MistaJam, Foreign Beggars, I See MONSTAS, Tom Staar, Pegboard Nerds and Tom Morello. Knife Party peaked at 23rd on DJMag's 2013 Top 100 DJs rankings. History 2002–2010: Origin Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen met in 2002 and have since performed music in various different bands and music projects. Robert Swire-Thompson (born 5 November 1982) is an Australian musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ, best known as the founder and vocalist of the drum and bass and electronic rock band Pendulum, as well as DJ and co-founder of electro house duo Knife Party formed of Swire and Gareth McGrillen. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, he relocated to the United Kingdom in 2003 with fellow Pendulum co-founders Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. Swire has since fulfilled a broad spectrum of roles as a member of Pendulum, ranging from songwriting to singing while performing live with an unusual guitar-like MIDI controller – Starr Labs' Ztar Z6S-XPA. Pendulum is an Australian electronic rock band founded in 2002. Pendulum originally formed in the city of Perth, Western Australia, by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul "El Hornet" Harding. The band was later expanded to include members Ben Mount, Peredur ap Gwynedd and KJ Sawka. Members Swire and McGrillen also formed the electro house duo Knife Party. Sam Vogel, also known by his stage name Jauz ( ), is an American DJ and electronic dance music producer based in San Francisco, United States. He founded his own record label, Bite This, in 2017. Early life Vogel grew up in Northern California. He began playing guitar and producing electronic music on his computer at the age of 15. He went to Icon Collective music production school. He previously went to a film school in Loyola Marymount University where he joined Kappa Sigma before deciding to pursue a musical career, prompting him to enroll in Icon Collective. ''Haunted House'' is the third EP by the Australian electronic music duo Knife Party, released on 5 May 2013 by Earstorm Records and Big Beat Records. It was announced through their official Twitter page on 8 August 2012. Background On 16 April 2013, Knife Party announced on Twitter that they have replaced the track "Baghdad" with a 'VIP' Mix of Internet Friends. Knife Party premiered the official artwork for the EP on 27 April, on their Facebook page. The EP was made available to pre-order in the US on 27 April, with the confirmed release date of 6 May. The EP leaked on 29 April 2013, but the leaked version of "Power Glove" was erroneous because its sub bass was pitched down an octave too low.
