Tri-Rail Stations In Miami-Dade County, Florida
Tri-Rail is a commuter rail service linking Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach in Florida, United States. The ''Tri'' prefix in the name refers to the three counties served by the railroad: Palm Beach County, Palm Beach, Broward County, Broward, and Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade. Tri-Rail is managed by the South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) along CSX Transportation's former Miami Subdivision; the line is now wholly owned by the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida DOT. MiamiCentral is a train station in Miami, Florida. Located in Downtown Miami, the station provides access to the Brightline inter-city rail service and the Tri-Rail commuter rail service. The station is part of a mixed-use complex, which includes of residential, office, commercial, and retail development. Government Center station, providing both Metromover and Metrorail service, is directly connected to the south end of MiamiCentral via a pedestrian bridge over NW 3rd Street. The Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Metromover station and the Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre Metrorail station are within steps of the northern entrances to MiamiCentral. Tri-Rail And Metrorail Transfer Station
Tri-Rail and Metrorail Transfer station is a Metrorail and Tri-Rail interchange station in Hialeah, Florida, northwest of the city of Miami proper. This station is located near the intersection of East 25th Street and East 11th Avenue in Hialeah, Florida, officially opening for service on March 6, 1989. The station was built as a connection for the Tri-Rail and Metrorail rail systems; though the Amtrak station, which is served by the ''Silver Meteor'' and '' Silver Star'', is located only a few blocks away, it is not officially connected to this station. The Amtrak station was scheduled to be moved to the Miami Intermodal Center by late 2018, but was delayed by several years due to a platform length issue. The ''Floridian'' is an Amtrak long-distance passenger train that operates daily between Chicago, Illinois, and Miami, Florida, via Washington, D.C. and Tampa, Florida. Service officially began on November 10, 2024. The train was formed as a combination of two existing trains: the '' Capitol Limited'', which operated overnight between Chicago and Washington, D.C., and the ''Silver Star'', which operated overnight between New York City and Miami. The ''Orange Blossom Special'' was a deluxe passenger train on the Seaboard Air Line Railroad connecting railroads between New York City and Miami in the United States. It ran during the winter season only. It covered on the Pennsylvania Railroad from New York City to Washington, D.C., the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad from Washington to Richmond, and the Seaboard Air Line Railroad from Richmond via Raleigh, Columbia, and Savannah to Miami. The Seaboard Air Line Railroad , known colloquially as the Seaboard Railroad during its time, was an American railroad that existed from April 14, 1900, until July 1, 1967, when it merged with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, its longtime rival, to form the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad.
