Treg Brown
Tregoweth Edmond "Treg" Brown (November 4, 1899 – April 28, 1984) was an American motion picture sound editor who was responsible for conceiving, recording and selecting the sound effects library in Warner Bros.' ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoons from 1936 to 1963. Before that, he worked with Cecil B. DeMille. Adding to this, he also gave fellow Warner Bros voice actor Mel Blanc his big break. He also won the 1966 Academy Award for Sound Effects for his work on the film ''The Great Race''. Gilbert is a city in St. Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,687 at the 2020 census. State Highway 37 (MN 37) and State Highway 135 (MN 135) are two of the main routes in Gilbert. Gilbert is part of the Quad Cities, with Virginia, Eveleth, and Mountain Iron. ''One Froggy Evening'' is a 1955 American Technicolor animated musical short film written by Michael Maltese and directed by Chuck Jones, with musical direction by Milt Franklyn. The short, partly inspired by a 1944 Cary Grant film entitled ''Once Upon a Time'' involving a dancing caterpillar in a small box, marks the debut of Michigan J. Frog: an anthropomorphic frog with a talent for singing and dancing that he demonstrates for no one except whoever possesses the box wherein he resides. This popular short contained a wide variety of musical entertainment, with songs ranging from " Hello! ''Now Hear This'' is a 1963 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Chuck Jones and Maurice Noble, and written by Jones and John Dunn. The short was released on April 27, 1963. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film the following year. Plot Satan, the Head Devil, loses his left horn, which is discovered by an elderly man in the United Kingdom and repurposed as a hearing trumpet. The man begins experiencing a series of surreal hallucinations, including bugs sounding like locomotives, butterflies creating strange patterns, and a mischievous man causing chaos. As the hallucinations become increasingly bizarre and frightening, they culminate in a gigantic explosion. Exhausted by the ordeal, the man abandons the horn for his original ear trumpet. After he leaves listening to "Rule, Britannia!", Satan appears and retrieves his missing horn, restoring it to its place with the moral: "The other fellow's trumpet always looks greener." ''Freudy Cat'' is a 1964 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' animated short directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on March 14, 1964, and stars Sylvester the Cat, Sylvester Jr. and Hippety Hopper. Plot A paranoid Sylvester flashes back to earlier cartoons such as '' Who's Kitten Who?'', ''Cats A-Weigh!'', and '' The Slap-Hoppy Mouse'' while describing to a psychiatrist that he thinks Hippety Hopper is out to get him. Soundtrack Anomaly The cartoon is unusual in that it mixes a new soundtrack by Bill Lava with music by Carl Stalling (while alive in 1964, he had retired six years earlier), which is heard during the original shorts that make up this cartoon. That results in a schizophrenic soundtrack (whether this was intentional, given the plot of a mentally unbalanced Sylvester visiting a psychiatrist, isn't known, but it is possible). ''Devil May Hare'' is a 1954 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' cartoon directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on June 19, 1954, and stars Bugs Bunny and the Tasmanian Devil making his debut. Plot Bugs is spring cleaning until he is interrupted by a huge variety of animals stampeding in fear. He fails to stop one of them from asking what is going on until he places a shovel in the way of a turtle, who explains that "the Tasmanian Devil's on the loose! Run for your lives!" Not knowing what a Tasmanian Devil is, Bugs walks down the stairs into his hole and looks in an encyclopedia. It describes the Tasmanian Devil, or Taz, as a "strong, murderous beast", with "jaws as powerful as a steel trap" and a "ravenous appetite", who eats a long list of animals. Taz, unknown to Bugs, has spun into the area and is actually standing next to the rabbit as he is reading; the marsupial interjects by writing "and rabbits" at the end of that list.
