Travis Brigley
Travis Brigley (born June 16, 1977) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He has formerly played professionally for the Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Brigley was drafted 39th overall, by the Calgary Flames in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft after playing four years with Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL. Brigley made his professional debut in the 1997–98 season with the Saint John Flames of the AHL. He also made his NHL debut with Calgary in the same year playing in 2 games. In the 1999–2000 season, Brigley was traded by the Flames to the Philadelphia Flyers for Marc Bureau on March 6, 2000. In the 2000–01 season, Brigley briefly played in Wales, UK with the Cardiff Devils before signing as a free agent with the Florida Panthers on December 16, 2000. The Calgary Flames are a professional ice hockey team based in Calgary. Saint John Flames
The Saint John Flames were a Canadian ice hockey team in the American Hockey League from 1993 to 2003 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The Calgary Flames bought and relocated the Utica Devils, to be their AHL affiliate. History The Saint John Flames won the 2001 Calder Cup Championship on home ice at Harbour Station on May 28, 2001 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the farm team of the Pittsburgh Penguins. 2004–05 NHL Lockout
The 2004–05 NHL lockout was a labor lockout that resulted in the cancellation of the National Hockey League (NHL) season, which would have been its 88th season of play. The main dispute was the league's desire to implement a salary cap to limit expenditure on player salaries, which was opposed by the NHL Players Association (NHLPA), the players' labor union, who proposed an alternative system of revenue sharing. Attempts at collective bargaining before the season began were unsuccessful. The lockout was initiated on September 16, 2004, one day after the expiration of the existing collective bargaining agreement (CBA), which itself had been the result of the 1994–95 lockout. The 2003–04 NHL season was the 87th regular season of the National Hockey League. 2001–02 AHL Season
The 2001–02 AHL season was the 66th season of the American Hockey League. It was the season of the biggest growth in the AHL's history, as it accepted eight new teams. The demise of the International Hockey League brought six teams transferring from the defunct league, in addition to two expansion teams. The AHL realigned divisions again. The Eastern conference consisted of the East, North and Canadian divisions. The Western conference consisted of the Central, South and West divisions. The league also announced three additional trophies, two of which were awarded for the regular season champions of the new divisions. The Norman R. Marc Bureau (ice Hockey)
Marc Joseph Denis Bureau (born May 19, 1966) is a Canadians, Canadian former ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames, Minnesota North Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers. Career In his prime, Bureau was considered in the upper echelon of defensive centres in the NHL. Never drafted by an NHL team, he was signed as a free agent by the Calgary Flames after scoring 54 goals for the Longueuil Chevaliers in 1986-87. With Calgary's logjam at the centre position, Bureau was traded to Minnesota for a third round choice (Sandy McCarthy) in 1991. He was claimed by the newly formed Tampa Bay Lightning in the 1992 NHL Expansion Draft, where he would enjoy his most successful years in the NHL.
