Travarus Bennett
Travarus Bennett (born 1979 in Rosedale, Mississippi) is a basketball player who has played professionally in Europe and the North American minor leagues. He played collegiately at the University of Minnesota. Bennett transferred to the Golden Gophers after playing his first two years a junior college affiliated with Southwest Missouri State. In his senior season, he led the Big Ten in steals, finished second in three point percentage and was named the Big Ten's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, and Honorable Mention All BigTen in 2002. He has had success in his European career. Rosedale is a city in Bolivar County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 1,873 at the 2010 census, down from 2,414 in 2000. Located in an agricultural area, the city had a stop on the Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad, which carried many migrants north out of the area in the first half of the 20th century. The Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represents the University of Minnesota in NCAA Division I college basketball competition. The Golden Gophers competes in the Big Ten Conference and play their home games at the Williams Arena. The Vermont Frost Heaves were a professional basketball team in Vermont, United States, that last played in the Premier Basketball League, last coached by Joe Salerno.
