''Trapped'' is a 2016 Indian survival film, survival Drama (film and television), drama film directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, who also co-produced it with Anurag Kashyap, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena under the banner of Phantom Studios, Phantom Films. The film stars Rajkummar Rao as a call centre employee who gets trapped in his apartment room without food, water, and electricity, and Geetanjali Thapa as his girlfriend. Motwane got the idea for the film from an e-mail from writer Amit Joshi. He liked the idea and asked Joshi to send a full script, which he received a month later. The script was later re-written by Joshi and Hardik Mehta who turned the 130-page draft into 40 pages. ''Trapped'' was primarily shot over a period of 20 days, at an apartment in Mumbai. Vikramaditya Motwane (born 6 December 1976) is an Indian filmmaker who works in Hindi films and series. His directorial debut '' Udaan'' (2010) was selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard category at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and also won seven Filmfare Awards. Motwane has since directed the period romance '' Lootera'' (2013), the survival drama '' Trapped'' (2017), the superhero film '' Bhavesh Joshi Superhero'' (2018), and the thrillers '' AK vs AK'' (2020) and '' CTRL'' (2024). Henry's 1907 short story " The Last Leaf". It is the second film directed by Motwane after the critically acclaimed ''Udaan'' (2010). Set in the 1950s against the backdrop of the Zamindari Abolition Act by the newly independent India, it tells the story of a young conman posing as an archaeologist and the daughter of a Bengali zamindar.
