Transpetrol AS
Transpetrol is a Slovak company involved in the transportation and storage of crude oil. It provides both transit and domestic transport to the end customer. The Slovak Republic owns through the Slovak Economy Ministry 100% of the company. Transpetrol is the operator of the Slovak section of the Druzhba pipeline and it is the only operator of the oil pipeline system in Slovakia. Statistics In 2006, the company transported a total of 11,145,000 tonnes of crude oil. *5,660,000 tonnes to Slovnaft; *5,218,000 tonnes to refineries at Litvínov and Pardubice in the Czech Republic; *267,000 tonnes to other companies. Druzhba Pipeline
The Druzhba pipeline (russian: нефтепровод «Дружба»; also has been referred to as the Friendship Pipeline and the Comecon Pipeline) is one of the world's longest oil pipelines and one of the largest oil pipeline networks in the world. It began operation in 1964 and remains in operation in 2022. It carries oil some from the eastern part of European Russia to points in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany. The network also branches out into numerous smaller pipelines to deliver its product throughout Eastern Europe and beyond. Slovnaft is an oil refining company in Slovakia. The company, located in Bratislava, is a subsidiary of MOL Group. History Slovnaft is the successor of the Apollo company. Apollo was established in 1895 in Bratislava. Its refinery was bombarded by the Allies in June 1944. Bratislava Apollo Bridge built over Danube is in proximity to the Apollo refinery historical site. The Slovnaft refinery started to be built in 1949.
