Transgressive Records
Transgressive Records is an independent record label based in London, formed in 2004. Its founders, Tim Dellow and Toby L, first met at a Bloc Party gig organised by Toby's Rockfeedback website. The label's debut release was "1am" by the Subways in September 2004, quickly followed by singles from Mystery Jets, the Young Knives and Regina Spektor. Artists on its roster include Flume, Sophie, Arlo Parks, Alvvays, Julia Jacklin, Hippo Campus and Songhoy Blues. The company has also formed Transgressive Management, looking after Johnny Flynn, Blaenavon, Marika Hackman and Let's Eat Grandma, and a publishing company, working with Foals, Loyle Carner, Benny Mails, Odetta Hartman and more. Let's Eat Grandma
Let's Eat Grandma are a British pop group formed in 2013 by musicians Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth. They released their debut studio album '' I, Gemini'' in 2016 through Transgressive Records. Their second studio album, ''I'm All Ears'', was released in 2018. Let's Eat Grandma describe their music as " experimental sludge pop". History Rosa Walton and Jenny Hollingworth were both raised in Norwich, a city in Norfolk. They originally met in reception class when they were four, and began making music together at 13. They originally began creating music as a playtime activity, with their first songs being titled "The Angry Chicken" and "Get That Leg Off the Banister". Peter Silberman
Peter Silberman (born March 31, 1986) is a Brooklyn-based songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist. He is best known as a member of the rock band The Antlers. In 2017 he released a solo album, '' Impermanence''. Musical career Silberman grew up in Katonah, New York and moved to New York City to attend NYU. It was around this time that Silberman started making and recording music under the name The Antlers, which began as a solo project. Silberman’s first album, '' Uprooted'', contained nine songs which he wrote and recorded himself. It was self-released in 2006. Neon Indian is an American electronic music band from Denton, Texas. The music is composed by Mexican-born Alan Palomo (born July 24, 1988), who is also known for his work with the band Ghosthustler, and as the solo artist VEGA. The Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company was a life insurance company that was chartered in 1845 and based in Newark in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. The company was headed by Frederick Frelinghuysen (1848–1924). The company was known as the "Tiffany" of insurance companies, a reference to its reputation as the life insurance company to the upper classes. Mutual Benefit Life was taken into receivership for rehabilitation by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance on July 16, 1991, after losses in an overheated real estate market led to a run by policyholders, who ultimately lost the purported "cash value" that had been said to have accrued in their policies. The Moonlandingz are an English rock band, formed in 2015. The band consists of Eccentronic Research Council duo Adrian Flanagan and Dean Honer, along with Fat White Family members Saul Adamczewski and Lias Kaci Saoudi. Harley Edward Streten (born 5 November 1991), known professionally as Flume, is an Australian DJ and music producer. He is regarded as a pioneer of future bass who helped popularise the genre. His self-titled debut studio album, ''Flume'', was released in 2012 to positive reviews, topping the ARIA Albums Chart and reaching double-platinum accreditation in Australia. Damon Albarn (; born 23 March 1968) is an English-Icelandic musician, singer-songwriter and composer, best known as the frontman and primary lyricist of the rock band Blur and as the co-creator and primary musical contributor of the virtual band Gorillaz. Raised in Leytonstone, East London, and around Colchester, Essex, Albarn attended The Stanway School, where he met guitarist Graham Coxon and formed Blur. Cosmo Sheldrake
Cosmo Christopher Sheldrake is an English musician, composer, and producer. He is the son of parapsychologist Rupert Sheldrake and voice teacher Jill Purce, and the brother of biologist Merlin Sheldrake. He released his first single, "The Moss"/"Solar", in 2014 and followed it up with the ''Pelicans We'' EP in 2015. Career Described as a "musical visionary" by '' The Telegraph'', Sheldrake has been releasing music since 2014. Beverly Glenn-Copeland (born 1944) is an American singer and songwriter. He has spent most of his life and career in Canada. His albums include ''Keyboard Fantasies'' (1986). Glenn-Copeland began publicly identifying as a trans man in 2002. Early life Glenn-Copeland was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to a musical family. As a child, Glenn-Copeland listened to his father play the music of Bach, Chopin, and Mozart on the piano, and heard his mother occasionally sing spirituals. At The Drive In
At the Drive-In was an American post-hardcore band from El Paso, Texas, formed in 1994. The band's most recent line-up consisted of Cedric Bixler-Zavala (vocals), Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, vocals), Paul Hinojos (bass), Tony Hajjar (drums) and Keeley Davis (guitar, vocals). After several early line-up changes, the band solidified into a five-piece, consisting of Bixler-Zavala, Rodríguez-López, Jim Ward, Hinojos and Hajjar. At the Drive-In released three studio albums and five EPs before breaking up in 2001. Their third and final album before their split, 2000's '' Relationship of Command'', received a number of accolades and is cited as a landmark of the post-hardcore genre.
