The Most-Litvínov tramway network ( cs, Tramvajová doprava v Mostě a v Litvínově) is a tram network connecting the city of Most and the town of Litvínov in the Ústí nad Labem Region. With a track and a length of approximately , the system is operated by ''Dopravní podnik měst Mostu a Litvínova''. This network is unique in Europe; since tram networks are typically designed to provide public transport for cities, this system is unique for connecting two towns of a combined population of less than 80,000 inhabitants. Most (; german: Brüx; la, Pons) is a city in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 63,000 inhabitants. It lies between the Central Bohemian Uplands and the Ore Mountains, approximately northwest of Prague along the Bílina River and southwest of Ústí nad Labem. Administrative parts Most is made up of eight city parts and villages: Most, Starý Most, Čepirohy, Komořany, Rudolice, Souš, Velebudice and Vtelno. * Rudolice is home to the Chanov housing estate, created during the communist era, which has become a symbol of the poverty and ghettoization of many Romani people in the Czech Republic. * Vtelno used to be a village near Most. Tatra T3SUCS
The T3 is a type of Czech tramcar produced by ČKD Tatra. A late-2000s study conducted on the Prague tram system has shown 98.9% reliability, the best of the Prague tram system fleet. During its period of production between 1960 and 1999, 13,991 powered units and 122 unpowered trailers were sold worldwide. It became the most dominant tramcar model in Eastern Bloc countries, except for Poland, where locally produced trams from Konstal factory are still the mainstay in tram systems there. In 1988, the T3 tram entered the Guinness Book of Records as the most widely produced tram in the world. With over 14,000 cars produced, it is still in 2022 the most widespread tram car in the world. Tatra T5B6
The Tatra T5B6 was an experimental tramcar built in 1976 by ČKD Tatra. History Having enjoyed widespread success throughout the Soviet Union with its earlier products, Tatra were keen to develop a new, modernised generation of tramcars for its clients. After initial runs on test-track at the Tatra factory, two prototypes were delivered to Most for evaluation, where they spent a year. The transport authorities in Most were however unwilling to pay a higher price for the T5B6 than they would otherwise have paid for the T3SU and no more orders were placed.
