Tove Billington Jørgensen
Tove Billington Bye (née Jørgensen) (28 July 1928 – 15 May 2008) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. She served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus during the terms 1973–1977 and 1977–1981. On the local level, she was a member of the executive committee of Asker municipal council, having been elected in the so-called "women's coup" where four women (Tove Billington Bye, Berit Ås, Marie Borge Refsum and Kari Bjerke Anderssen) led a successful campaign to get women elected to the municipal council. She was married to legendary Norwegian TV and radio personality Erik Bye from 1953 to his death in 2004, and lived at Hvalstad Hvalstad is a village and a small part of the municipality of Asker. Erik Bye
Erik Erikssønn Bye (March 1, 1926 – October 13, 2004) was a versatile Norwegian-American journalist, artist, author, film actor, folk singer and radio and television personality. He was one of the 20th century's most well-known and popular radio and television figures in Norway. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Rønnaug (née Dahl) and opera singer Erik Ole Bye, his family moved home to Norway when he was six years old. After a few years in Ringerike they settled in the Nordstrand borough in Oslo, where they took over a bed and breakfast. In his teens, Bye joined the Norwegian resistance movement during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany during World War II. Marie Borge Refsum (20 March 1927 – 16 February 2023) was a Norwegian politician, who served as a member of the Conservative Party. Refsum served as a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus during the term 1973–1977. Berit Ås
Berit Ås ( Skarpaas; 10 April 1928 – 14 September 2024) was a Norwegian politician, social psychologist, and feminism, feminist. Ås was the first leader of the Socialist Left Party (Norway), Socialist Left Party (1975–1976), and served as a Member of the Parliament of Norway 1973–1977. She was also a deputy member of parliament from 1969 to 1973 (for the Norwegian Labour Party), and from 1977 to 1981 (for the Socialist Left Party).
