Töss
Töss is a district in the Swiss city of Winterthur. It is district number 4. The district comprises the quarters Schlosstal, Dättnau, Eichliacker and Rossberg. It is named after the river Töss which flows through the district. In the Middle Ages, the village was renowned as the location of the Töss nunnery, where Elizabeth of Hungary and Elsbeth Stagel were the nuns. The latter described the lives of its nuns in some detail. Töss was formerly a municipality of its own, but was incorporated into Winterthur in 1922. Tennis Serve
A serve (or, more formally, a service) in tennis is a shot to start a point. A player will hit the ball with a racquet so it will fall into the diagonally opposite service box without being stopped by the net. Normally players begin a serve by tossing the ball into the air and hitting it (usually near the highest point of the toss). The ball can only touch the net on a return and will be considered good if it falls on the opposite side. If the ball contacts the net on the serve but then proceeds to the proper service box, it is called a ''let''; this is not a legal serve in the major tours (but see below) although it is also not a ''fault''. Full Toss
A full toss is a type of delivery in the sport of cricket. It describes any delivery that reaches the batsman without bouncing on the pitch first. A full toss which reaches the batsman above the waist is called a beamer. This is not a valid delivery and will lead to a no-ball penalty, but, like the bouncer, is sometimes used as an intimidation tactic. The Tri-Lab Operating System Stack (TOSS) is a Linux distribution based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) that was created to provide a software stack for high performance computing (HPC) clusters for laboratories within the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The operating system allows multiple smaller systems to emulate a high-performance computing (HPC) platform. Linux distribution The name "tri-lab" refers to the three major NNSA labs, the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the Sandia National Laboratories. The OS is used by NNSA computers including the El Capitan supercomputer and systems using ARM architecture including the ThunderX2 system on a chip (SoC). Toss Woollaston
Sir Mountford Tosswill "Toss" Woollaston (11 April 1910 – 30 August 1998) was a New Zealand artist. He is regarded as one of the most important New Zealand painters of the 20th century. Life Born in Toko, Taranaki in 1910, Woollaston attended primary school at Stratford, and Stratford Technical High School. He studied art at the Canterbury School of Art in Christchurch. One of his teachers at the Canterbury School of Art was Margaret Stoddart. He became interested in modernism after moving to Dunedin to study with R N Field. Sheaf Toss
The sheaf toss is a traditional Scottish agricultural sport event originally contested at country fairs. A pitchfork is used to hurl a burlap bag stuffed with straw over a horizontal bar above the competitor's head. Typical weight for the bag is 16 pounds (about 7 kg). Three chances are given to each competitor to cleanly go over the bar. After all challengers have made their attempts, the bar is raised and all successful competitors move on to the new height. This continues until all but one athlete is eliminated. The Sheaf toss has been incorporated as an event at many of the Scottish highland games although technically it is not itself a heavy athletics event.
