Toruń is a Polish List of Polish parliamentary districts, parliamentary constituency in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. It elects thirteen members of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Sejm. The district has the number '5' and is named after the city of Toruń. National Assembly Of The Republic Of Poland
The parliament of Poland is the bicameral legislature of Poland. It is composed of an upper house (the Senate) and a lower house (the Sejm). Both houses are accommodated in the Sejm and Senate Complex in Warsaw. The Constitution of Poland does not refer to the Parliament as a body, but only to the Sejm and Senate. Members of both houses are elected by direct election, usually every four years. The Sejm has 460 members, while the Senate has 100 senators. To become law, a bill must first be approved by both houses, but the Sejm can override a Senate refusal to pass a bill. On certain occasions, the Marshal of the Sejm summons the National Assembly, a joint session of the members of both houses. It is mostly ceremonial in nature, and it only convenes occasionally, such as to witness the inauguration of the President. Włocławek (; or ''Alt Lesle'', Yiddish: וולאָצלאַוועק, romanized: ''Vlatzlavek'') is a city in the Kuyavian–Pomeranian Voivodeship in central Poland along the Vistula River, bordered by the Gostynin-Włocławek Landscape Park. Jan Ardanowski
Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski (born 11 February 1961) is a Polish politician, farmer and member of the Sejm since 2011. He served as the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development between 20 June 2018 and 6 October 2020. Biography In 1985 Ardanowski graduated from Bydgoszcz Academy of Technology and Agriculture with a Master of Engineering () degree in Agriculture. During his studies he was a member of the Independent Students' Association and was actively involved in democratic opposition to the communist rule activities. Ardanowski was elected in 2011 a member of the Sejm for the Sejm Constituency no. 5 as a Law and Justice candidate. He was reelected in 2015, 2019 and 2023 now serving his fourth term. City County (Poland)
A city with powiat rights () is in Poland a designation denoting 66 of the 107 cities (the urban gminas which are governed by a city mayor or ''prezydent miasta'') which exercise also the powers and duties of a county (), thus being an independent city. They have roughly the same status as former county boroughs in the United Kingdom. Sometimes, such a city will also be referred to in Polish as city county (); this term however is not official (it was used during the interwar times of the Second Polish Republic). The contemporary term ''city with powiat rights'' should not be used interchangeably with the interwar ''city county''. Such cities are distinct from and independent of the 314 regular powiats (sometimes referred as 'land counties' (), again a term that was used in the interwar period and is not used in modern Polish law). A voivodeship sejmik (), also known as a provincial or regional assembly, is the regional-level elected legislature for each of the sixteen voivodeships of Poland. Machnikowski et al., p. 21 Sejmiks are elected to five-year terms, decided during nationwide local elections. The size of the legislative assembly varies for each voivodeship depending on the population, ranging from 30 members in lesser populated provinces to 51 members in the most populous one.
