Toronto Shooting Stars were a Canadian professional indoor lacrosse team that played in the Canadian Lacrosse League. The Shooting Stars played out of the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario. History The team was founded as the Oshawa Machine in the summer of 2011. The Machine played their first game in franchise history on January 7, 2012 in Hagersville, Ontario. The Machine lost the game to the Ohsweken Demons 19-13. The Machine finished the 2012 campaign with a record of 6-8 which was good for fifth position in the six-team league. The Machine did not qualify for the playoffs in 2012 The team was moved in the summer of 2012 and became the Toronto Shooting Stars. The Stars played in the old Maple Leaf Gardens, renamed the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Maple Leaf Gardens
Maple Leaf Gardens is a historic building located at the northwest corner of Carlton Street and Church Street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The building was initially constructed in 1931 as an arena to host ice hockey games, though it has since been reconstructed for other uses. Today, Maple Leaf Gardens is a multi-purpose facility, with Loblaws occupying retail space on the lower floors and an arena for Toronto Metropolitan University, known as Mattamy Athletic Centre at the Gardens, occupying the top level. SouthWest Cyclops were a Canadian professional indoor lacrosse team that played in the Canadian Lacrosse League. The team, originally named the Brampton Inferno, played their 2015 season in Paris, Ontario. History The team ownership was confirmed on June 19, 2011 and the team was scheduled to start play in 2012. The original Canadian Lacrosse League saw two teams in Brampton, the Inferno and the Peel Avengers, now the Niagara Lock Monsters, two teams in Six Nations, the Iroquois Ironmen and the Ohsweken Demons, and two teams in Oshawa, the Oshawa Machine, and the Durham TurfDogs. Ohsweken Demons were a Canadian professional indoor lacrosse team that played in the Canadian Lacrosse League. The Demons played out of the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville, Ontario. History The Ohsweken Demons played their first game ever on January 7, 2012, at home, in Hagersville, Ontario. The Demons defeated the Oshawa Machine 19-13. Ohsweken finished the 2012 regular season with an 8-6 record, placing them 3rd in the CLax standings. In the first round of playoff action the Demons would face the second-seeded Brampton Inferno, who also finished the season with an 8-6 record. Chris Attwood would score the decisive goal to give Ohsweken the 17-16 victory. In the Creators' Cup championship, the Demons would face the Iroquois Ironmen in an all native match-up.
