Torbjörn Hultman
Rear Admiral Torbjörn Åke Hultman (born 7 May 1937) is a retired a Swedish Navy officer. Hultman graduated from the Royal Swedish Naval Academy in 1958 and began his career as a naval officer, serving on destroyers and torpedo boats until 1964. He then transitioned into various educational roles and technical training, ultimately leading the countermeasure office in the Naval Staff's Signal Intelligence Department. Hultman managed the development of the ARTE 722 fire control system and later became head of the Missile Section at the Artillery and Missile Bureau within the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, where he played a crucial role in procuring anti-ship missiles, including the RBS 15. Promoted to rear admiral in 1988, he led the Main Department for Naval Materiel from 1989 to 1996, overseeing significant advancements in naval technology, particularly in submarine protection. The Harpoon is an all-weather, Over-the-horizon radar, over-the-horizon, anti-ship missile manufactured by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing Defense, Space & Security). Tony Tan Keng Yam (; born 7 February 1940) is a Singaporean banker and politician who served as the seventh president of Singapore between 2011 and 2017. Prior to entering politics, Tan was a general manager at OCBC Bank. He made his political debut in the 1979 by-elections as a People's Action Party (PAP) candidate contesting in Sembawang GRC and won. Hydrophone
A hydrophone () is a microphone designed for underwater use, for recording or listening to underwater sound. Most hydrophones contains a piezoelectric transducer that generates an electric potential when subjected to a pressure change, such as a sound wave. A hydrophone can also detect airborne sounds but is insensitive of them because it is designed to match the acoustic impedance of water, a denser fluid than air. Sound travels 4.3 times faster in water than in air, and a sound wave in water exerts a pressure 60 times more than what is exerted by a wave of the same amplitude in air. Swedish Submarine Incidents
The submarine hunts or submarine incidents were a series of several incidents involving foreign submarines that occurred in Swedish territorial waters during the Cold War, attributed in Swedish media to the Soviet Union. On October 27, 1981, the Soviet submarine ''U 137'' became stranded deep inside Swedish waters. The Swedish Navy responded aggressively to these perceived threats, increasing patrols in Swedish waters, mining and electronically monitoring passages, and repeatedly chasing and attacking suspected submarines with depth charge bombs, but no hits or casualties were ever recorded. This incident encouraged development of incident weapons to increase security of future submarine incidents. Muskö Naval Base
Muskö Naval Base () is a Swedish Navy underground naval facility on the island of Muskö just south of Stockholm in Haninge Municipality. The construction of the base started in 1950 and was completed 19 years later in 1969. During the construction about 1.5 million tons of rock were removed. It has 3 docks, originally designed for destroyers and submarines. The underground base itself has an area of several km² and is connected by of underground roads. In order to connect the base to the mainland, the was built at the same time as the base. This crosses several bridges and intermediate islands before finally accessing the island of Muskö through the , a long road tunnel running some under the sea. East Coast Naval Base (, MarinB O) was a Swedish Navy command body which operated in various forms between the years 1928 and 2004. It was located in Stockholm from 1928 to 1966 and then in Haninge Municipality from 1966 to 2004.
