Tor Halvor Bjørnstad is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier, biathlete and winter triathlete. Career He made his World Cup debut in March 2002 in Holmenkollen, with a 30th place in the 50 km race. In the same race in 2006 he finished 28th, and in the same race in 2008 he finished 27th. Tynset IF
Tynset Idrettsforening is a Norwegian sports club from Tynset Municipality in Innlandet county. It has sections for association football, team handball, cycling, judo, orienteering, speed skating, skiing, swimming, and taekwondo. It was established on 15 September 1900 as ''Tønset IF'', and the name was modernized to ''Tynset IF'' in 1923 at the same time as the club adopted association football. The men's football team currently plays in the 3. divisjon, the fourth tier of the Norwegian football league system. It last played in the 2. divisjon in 1999. Bækkelagets Sportsklub is a Norwegian sports club from Bekkelaget in southern Oslo, founded in 1909. The club has sections for skiing (including ski jumping and biathlon), orienteering, handball, football, floorball and track and field athletics, previously also bandy. It is known for organizing one of the world's largest youth football tournaments, Norway Cup. Handball The club consists of 850 active handball players. The women's handball team won the Women's EHF Cup Winner's Cup in 1997/1998, and again in 1998/1999. The club also reached the final in EHF Women's Champions Trophy the same two seasons. In 1998 Bækkelaget had the best women's team in Europe. The club still plays in the Norwegian top league, but ambitions are far lower than in their best period. Tynset (town)
Tynset is a town in Tynset Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The town is also the administrative centre of Tynset Municipality. Tynset Church is located in the town. The town is located along the river Glåma, about halfway between the villages of Tolga and Alvdal. The town includes a central urban area with several surrounding residential areas. The smaller villages of Fåset (to the southwest) and Telneset (to the northeast) lie a short distance away from Tynset. The town has a population (2024) of 2,976 and a population density of . Holmenkollen () is a mountain and a neighbourhood in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It goes up to above sea level and is well known for its international skiing competitions. FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup is an annual cross-country skiing competition, arranged by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1981. The competition was arranged unofficially between 1973 and 1981, although it received provisional recognition on the 31st FIS Congress, 29–30 April 1977 in Bariloche, Argentina. The first World Cup races were held on 9 January 1982 and were located in Reit im Winkl, West Germany and Klingenthal, East Germany. Bill Koch of the United States and Berit Aunli of Norway were the overall winners in the first season. Rules Competitors attempt to achieve the most points during the season. Winter Triathlon
Winter triathlon is a Multisport race, multisport event involving the continuous and sequential completion of snowshoeing or running, mountain biking or speed skating and cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skiing, all on snow. Course distances are set on the day of the event to achieve a winning time around 80–90 minutes, after taking account of the snow conditions. Since 2013, the International Triathlon Union created a new version of the sport, which consist of 12km of ice skating, 8km of cross-country skiing and 5 km of snowshoeing. It is called winter triathlon S3, because the three sports start with an S (skate, ski, snowshoe). The first ITU event was held in Quebec, Canada in February 2015. However, the Canadian national winter triathlon championships have been running for over 30 years. The Winterlude Triathlon is the oldest established winter triathlon in Canada.
