The Top (Roscoe Neyle Dillon) is a supervillain appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. The character has made limited appearances across DC-related media while a female version appeared in the live-action television series ''The Flash'', portrayed by Ashley Rickards. Publication history Top first appeared in ''The Flash'' #122 (August 1961) and was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino. Fictional character biography Roscoe Dillon is a small-time crook who turns his childhood obsession with tops into a criminal persona. Roscoe taught himself how to spin around fast enough to deflect bullets and produce other semi-useful effects. Top soon discovers that the spinning increased his intelligence as well (because his body and thus his mind are spinning at super human speeds), allowing him to create a variety of trick tops. Irv Novick
Irving Novick (; April 11, 1916 – October 15, 2004) was an American comics artist who worked almost continuously from 1939 until the 1990s. Career A graduate of the National Academy of Design, Irv Novick got his start in the workshop of Harry "A" Chesler. From about 1939 to 1946, Novick was working for MLJ Comics, the company that would later be known as Archie Comics. He became the primary artist for their superhero comics, including the characters the Shield (the first patriotic superhero), Bob Phantom, the Hangman, and Steel Sterling, until MLJ cut back on these titles to focus more on their Archie comics. He joined the United States Army on April 17, 1943. From 1946 to 1951, Novick worked in advertising and for the largely unsuccessful comic strips ''Cynthia'' and ''The Scarlet Avenger''. "Blackest Night" is a 2009–10 American comic book Fictional crossover, crossover storyline published by DC Comics, consisting of an eponymous central miniseries, written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Ivan Reis, along with a number of tie-in issues. ''Blackest Night'' involves Nekron, a personified force of death who reanimates deceased superheroes and seeks to eliminate all life and emotion from the universe. Johns identified the series' central theme as emotion. Girder is a supervillain and a new Rogue to the Flash (Wally West). He first appeared in ''Flash: Iron Heights'' (2001) and was created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver. Girder made his live-action debut on the first season of ''The Flash'', portrayed by Greg Finley. Fictional character biography Steelworker Tony Woodward caused a riot at a steel plant after he assaulted a female employee. Angry coworkers threw Tony into a vat of molten steel. The liquid steel included recycled scraps from experiments performed by S.T.A.R. Labs. These scraps somehow turned Tony's body into living metal, which has incredible resistance from harm and grants him superhuman strength. Wallace Rudolph "Wally" West is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics as the original Kid Flash and the third Flash (DC Comics character), Flash. His power consists mainly of speedster (fiction), superhuman speed. The nephew of Iris West, he first appeared in ''Flash'' #110 (1959), which depicted his transformation into Kid Flash.
