Tone Partljič
Tone Partljič (born 5 August 1940) is a Slovene language, Slovene writer, playwright and politician. Between 1990 and 2004 he was a member of the National Assembly (Slovenia), Slovenian National Assembly, from 1994 as a member of the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia, LDS party. He was also president of the Slovene Writers' Association between 1983 and 1987. Early life and education Partljič was born in Maribor and grew up in Pesnica pri Mariboru. He studied in Maribor and graduated in Slovene and English language in 1965 and worked as a teacher and then as a dramaturge and artistic director at the Slovene National Theatre, Ljubljana, Slovene National Theatre and the Ljubljana City Theatre. In 1980 he won the Prešeren Award, Prešeren Foundation Award for his satirical comedies. Maribor
Maribor ( , , ; also known by other #Name, historical names) is the List of cities and towns in Slovenia, second-largest city in Slovenia and the largest city of the traditional region of Styria (Slovenia), Lower Styria. Fran Levstik (28 September 1831 – 16 November 1887) was a Slovenes, Slovene writer, political activist, playwright and critic. He was one of the most prominent exponents of the Young Slovene political movement. Life and work Levstik was born in 1831 in Dolnje Retje (now part of the municipality of Velike Lašče) in Lower Carniola (then part of the Austrian Empire, today in Slovenia) in a peasant Slovenes, Slovene family. Levstik was the first notable writer of Slovene epic prose.
