Tomáš Bezdeda
Tomáš Bezdeda (born 2 December 1985) is a Slovaks, Slovak singer. Career Bezdeda's popularity rose to fame after placing third in ''Slovensko Hľadá SuperStar'', the Slovak version of ''Pop Idol'', on Radio and Television of Slovakia. Bezdeda worked as a moderator of the music program XXL on the same television channel. In 2006, he took part in ''Let's Dance (Slovak TV series), Let's Dance'' on TV Markíza. In 2009, Bezdeda attempted to represent Slovakia at the Eurovision Song Contest and to be the first Slovak entry in the contest since 1998. Bezdeda performed at the Slovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, Eurosong contest, and in the final came second in the televoting with the song "Každý z nás", beaten by Kamil Mikulčík and Nela Pocisková. In 2010, he once again Slovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, attempted to represent Slovakia, performing the contest "Na strechách domov" at Eurosong contest, reaching third place. Žilina (; ; ; ; Names of European cities in different languages: U-Z#Z, names in other languages) is a city in north-western Slovakia, around from the capital Bratislava, close to both the Czech and Polish borders. Miroslav Žbirka
Miroslav "Miro" Žbirka (21 October 1952 – 10 November 2021) was a Slovak pop and rock singer and songwriter, widely popular in 1980s Czechoslovakia. Born in Bratislava to a Slovak father and an English mother, he sang in Slovak, English, and Czech. He sometimes recorded in London, but lived in Slovakia and since early 1990s in Prague, Czech Republic, where he died. In the late 1970s, Žbirka co-founded two Czechoslovak pop music bands, Modus and Limit. In 1982, he rose to fame by winning the annual Zlatý slavík award for the best male singer in Czechoslovakia. After the 1992 division of Czechoslovakia, he repeated this achievement in the Slovak annual Slávik Awards, coming number one in the annual end of year charts in 2002, 2004 and 2005. ''"V slepých uličkách"'' () is a duet by Miro Žbirka and Marika Gombitová released on OPUS in 1980. The song, written by Žbirka and Kamil Peteraj was originally issued as B-side of the Žbirka's solo single "Klaun z domu č. 6", taken also from his debut studio album '' Doktor Sen''. An international, however solo version of the composition entitled ''"The Love Song"'' featured on the Žbirka's export album '' Doctor Dream'' (1981). Věra Bílá
Věra Bílá (22 May 1954 – 12 March 2019) was a Czech vocalist and musician of Romani ethnicity. She initially gained acclaim performing Romani folk and pop songs and was the lead singer of the Czech recording act ''Kale'' with whom she performed songs in Romani, Czech, and Slovak. She was highly acclaimed, toured internationally and was often called the "Ella Fitzgerald of Gypsy music" or the "Queen of Romany" Biography Bílá, a Rokycany native, was the daughter of singer Karol Giňa. She lived and worked in the Czech Republic. In 1999 director Mira Erdevicki-Charap portrayed Bílá in the documentary ''Black and White in Colour''. Susan Kay Quatro (born June 3, 1950) is an American singer, bass guitarist, songwriter, and actress. "Stumblin' In" is a song written by Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn, performed by Chris Norman and Suzi Quatro. Originally released as a standalone single, it was later added to some editions of the Quatro album '' If You Knew Suzi...'' It was Norman's first single as a solo artist. Background The writing-producing team of Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn were behind many of the 1970s hits for Suzi Quatro and for Chris Norman's band Smokie. Team, sometimes stylized as TEAM, is a Slovak rock band led by Pavol Habera. It was founded in 1980 in the city of Martin, in what was then Czechoslovakia. The band won the Zlatý slavík music award in 1989, 1990, and again in 1991, as well as a ZAI Award in 1990. They have released ten studio albums, three live recordings, and several compilations. No Name (Slovak Band)
No Name is a Slovak rock band formed in Košice in 1996 by Viliam Gutray and three Timko brothers: Igor, Roman, and Ivan. Marián Čekovský joined as a keyboardist and was later replaced by Zoli Šallai. A few years later, the youngest Timko brother, Dušan, also became a member of the band.
