Tomàs Rosés
Tomàs Rosés was a banker and president of FC Barcelona from 1929 to 1930. A banker by trade, Rosés became the 17th president of FC Barcelona on 23 March 1929, and presided over the club as they won a Catalan Championship and the inaugural edition of La Liga, as the team won the 1929 La Liga. However, despite the team success, the players refused to play until future president Josep Sunyol was able to defuse the situation. The Catalan football championship ''(Campionat de Catalunya)'' was a football competition in Catalonia and the first football league in Spain before La Liga was established in 1929. 1929 La Liga
The 1929 Primera División season was the inaugural season of the Primera División. It started on 10 February 1929 and finished on 23 June 1929. A total of 10 teams participated in the league. After the failure to create a national league in 1928, that ended with the teams split into two unconcluded leagues, an agreement with the Royal Spanish Football Federation was finally reached for the creation of a national league. Josep Sunyol
Josep Sunyol i Garriga (21 July 1898, Barcelona – 6 August 1936, Sierra de Guadarrama) was a Catalan lawyer, journalist and politician from Spain. He was president of FC Barcelona, a prominent politician for the Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC), and ERC deputy in the Congress of Deputies in 1931, 1933 and 1936. Life Sunyol came from both a wealthy family and a long line of Catalan political militants. He was a member of ''Acció Catalana'', a left-wing group and Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya. In 1928 he became a director of FC Barcelona and in 1930 he founded the left-wing newspaper ''La Rambla'', which opposed the Primo de Rivera regime.
