Tomaž (Tomo) Pisanski (born 24 May 1949 in Ljubljana, Yugoslavia, which is now in Slovenia) is a Slovenian mathematician working mainly in discrete mathematics and graph theory. He is considered by many Slovenian mathematicians to be the "father of Slovenian discrete mathematics." Biography As a high school student, Pisanski competed in the 1966 and 1967 International Mathematical Olympiads as a member of the Yugoslav team, winning a bronze medal in 1967. He studied at the University of Ljubljana where he obtained a B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD in mathematics. His 1981 PhD thesis in topological graph theory was written under the guidance of Torrence Parsons. He also obtained an M.Sc. in computer science from Pennsylvania State University in 1979. Tomaž Marušič (19 May 1932 – 16 February 2011) was a Slovenian lawyer and politician. He was born in Gorizia, Italy. His father, Franc Marušič was a renowned local physician and a staunch Slovene patriot and antifascist. During his childhood, the family moved to the suburb of Solkan, which was included in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1947. Marušič studied at the Nova Gorica Grammar School. He graduated from law at the University of Ljubljana and worked as a lawyer in Nova Gorica and Koper. During the Slovenian Spring (1988–1990), he joined the newly formed Slovene People's Party. Anton Tomaž Linhart (December 11, 1756 – July 14, 1795) was a Carniolan playwright and historian, best known as the author of the first comedy and theatrical play in general in Slovene, ''Županova Micka'' (Micka, the Mayor's Daughter). He is also considered the father of Slovene historiography, since he was the first historian to write a history of all Slovenes as a unit, rejecting the previous concept which focused on single historical provinces. He was the first one to define the Slovenes as a separate ethnic group and set the foundations of Slovene ethnography.
