Tom Stevenson
Tom Stevenson (born 1951) is a British wine writer and critic. Stevenson is regarded as an expert on Champagne and Alsace wine. He has written 23 books. Career Stevenson began writing for Decanter magazine in 1981, and during the mid-1980s he started ''The Sunday Telegraph Good Wine Guide''. By 1991 was also writing for Wine & Spirit. Stevenson's 1986 book ''Champagne'' and 1993 book '' The Wines of Alsace'' were very positively received. The former exposed the practice of In 1998, he wrote '' Christie's World Encyclopedia of Champagne & Sparkling Wine.'' This book published a 17th-century document for the first time proving the English used the secondary fermentation process before the French were claimed to have invented champagne, although describing this as the British invented champagne has been criticised as unscholarly. Essi Avellan
Essi Avellan (born 1975) is a Finnish sparkling wine expert, wine writer and wine competition judge. In 2006, she became the first Finn to be awarded the qualification Master of Wine. Biography Avellan was born in 1975. She holds a Master of Science degree in Business Administration. While studying for the degree, she became interested in wine working at a Finnish owned château in Bordeaux. She was the editor of FINE Champagne magazine 2007-2019, releasing the first edition in March 2007. Tony Jordan (winemaker)
Anthony Douglas Jordan (28 May 1944 – 27 August 2019) was an Australian winemaker and Oenology, oenologist. In the 1970s, Jordan, along with winemaker Brian Croser developed the oenology program at what is now Charles Sturt University. He later founded the wine consultancy Oenotec with Croser. For most of his career, Jordan worked for LVMH, Moët-Hennessy, establishing and managing wineries around the world, including Domaine Chandon in the Yarra Valley. In his retirement, he scouted the location for the Ao Yun winery. Throughout his life, Jordan was deeply involved in the Australian wine industry and judged numerous wine competitions both nationally and internationally.
