The Tokyo Street Circuit is a street circuit located around the Tokyo International Exhibition Centre in the Japanese capital that hosts the Tokyo ePrix, a round of the Formula E electric formula racing series. The inaugural edition in 2024 became the first international-championship street race to be hosted on closed public roads in the city. Tokyo International Exhibition Centre
, officially known as , is a convention and exhibition center in Tokyo and the largest such venue in Japan. Opened in April 1996, the center is located in the Ariake Minami district of the on the Tokyo Bay waterfront. Its most iconic feature is the visually distinctive Conference Tower. The name Tokyo Big Sight in Japanese eventually became the official name, and it also became the name of the operator in April 2003. The racing series is the highest class of competition for electrically powered single-seater racing cars. The inaugural championship race was held in Beijing in September 2014. Sam Jamie Bird (born 9 January 1987) is a British people, British professional racing driver who is currently driving for McLaren#Formula E, NEOM McLaren in Formula E. Formula E Gen3
The Formula E Gen3, also known as Spark Gen3 or simply Gen3, is an electric formula race car designed for use in the FIA Formula E Championship. The car is the successor to the SRT05e, and is constructed by Spark Racing Technology. It is used as the base car for all manufacturers and teams from the 2022–23 Formula E World Championship onwards. The upgraded Gen3 Evo has been used from season onwards. 2024 Tokyo EPrix
The 2024 Tokyo ePrix was the fifth race of the 2023–24 Formula E World Championship, held on 30 March 2024. It was the first running of the Tokyo ePrix, a new event held around the Tokyo Street Circuit. The ePrix was won by Maximilian Günther for Maserati MSG Racing, Maserati, who overtook Nismo#Formula E, Nissan driver Oliver Rowland towards the end of the race after saving energy throughout.
