Tofik Ismailov
Tofik Ismailov (; June 21, 1933 – November 20, 1991) was born in Baku, Azerbaijan and served as the first Secretary of State of Azerbaijan. He was killed in a helicopter which was shot down by Armenian forces near the Karakend village of Khojavend district in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan. There were no survivors of the crash. Tofiq Musayev
Tofiq Musayev (born December 15, 1989) is an Azerbaijani professional mixed martial artist, competing in the Lightweight of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He has previously fought for Rizin Fighting Federation, where he was the RIZIN Lightweight Grand Prix Champion, and for Bellator MMA. Early life Tofiq Musayev was born in Sahil, Azerbaijan. Even at school, due to the minimum number of sports sections, he went to karate and later with pankration, kung-fu and taekwondo. Tofiq Bahramov
Tofiq Bahramov (; ; 29 January 1925 – 26 March 1993) was a Soviet footballer and football referee from Azerbaijan. He was the linesman who helped to award England’s controversial third goal in the 1966 FIFA World Cup Final against West Germany. He came to be wrongly referred to as "the Russian linesman" in England as a result of his decision and his Soviet citizenship, although he was not Russian but Azerbaijani. After his death in 1993, Azerbaijan's then national stadium was renamed the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in his honor. Career Bahramov was originally a footballer playing for Neftçi PFK, but a serious leg injury prevented him from continuing his playing career and he became a referee. Tofig Nadir oglu Zulfugarov (; born 1959) also spelled as Tofiq Zulfuqarov, is a politician from Azerbaijan. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan under Heydar Aliyev from March 1998 until October 1999 when he was replaced by Vilayat Guliyev. Early life Zulfugarov was born on November 1, 1959, in a Russian town of Rostov. His family moved to Baku, Azerbaijan in 1961. He studied at Baku school No. 93 in 1966-1976. Tofig Yagublu
Tofig Rashid oghlu Yagublu (; born 1961), is an Azerbaijani politician, journalist, former deputy chairman of the Musavat Party (2010–2018), and a member of the coordinating center of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF). Arrested and imprisoned several times, Amnesty International has recognized Yagublu as a prisoner of conscience. In March 2025, he was sentenced to 9 years in prison. Tofig Mirhashim oghlu Javadov (Mirjavadov) (, February 7, 1925 — August 20, 1963) was an Azerbaijani painter. Biography Tofig Javadov was born on February 7, 1925, in Baku. Tofig Ismayilov (film Director)
Tofiq Ismayilov (6 April 1939 – 25 March 2016) was an Azerbaijani film director, screenwriter and film scholar. Ismayilov directed over 30 films, including documentaries and starred in several films. From 2007, he lectured in the Azerbaijani State University of Culture and Art. As a scholar, Ismayilov authored the encyclopedia ''The Cinema History of Turkic People''. Tawfik (), or Tewfik, is an Arabic masculine given name and a surname. The name is derived from the Arabic root: waaw-faa-qaaf (), which means to agree or to reconcile. Tofig Muhammad oglu Huseynzade (; 20 September 1946 – 13 November 2006) also spelled as Tofiq Huseynzade was a philologist, folklorist, journalist and poet of Azerbaijan. He was a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR (1987). Biography Huseynzade was born on 20 September 1946 in Sariyagub (present-day Jaghatsadzor), a village of Basargechar district (present-day Gegharkunik Province) of the Armenian SSR. He was admitted into the Faculty of Philology at Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (1965–1971). Afterwards, he continued his high level of education at İnstitute of Folklore of ANAS.
