TobyMac
Kevin Michael McKeehan (born October 22, 1964), better known by his stage name TobyMac (styled tobyMac), is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. His road band is known as Diverse City. Widely regarded as one of the most influential Christian artists of all time, he was as a member of the Christian hip-hop, Christian rap-Christian rock, rock trio DC Talk, staying with them from 1987 until they went on hiatus in 2000. Portable Sounds
''Portable Sounds'' (stylized as (portable sounds)) is the third full-length studio album from Christian hip hop artist tobyMac. Released on February 20, 2007, the album serves as a follow-up to his 2004 album, '' Welcome to Diverse City''. The album debuted at No. 10 on the ''Billboard'' 200. The album includes the singles " Lose My Soul", " Made to Love", "Boomin'", " I'm for You", and "One World (featuring Siti Monroe)". ''Portable Sounds'' took a slightly different direction than tobyMac's previous hip hop efforts, having more of a pop sound. When it was released on iTunes, users were able to download a behind-the-scenes making of the album video, a digital booklet, and an acoustic version of "Made to Love". ''Christmas in Diverse City'' is TobyMac's first full-length Christmas album as well as his fifth studio album. It was released on October 4, 2011. A re-release of the album, excluding a few tracks and including two new tracks 'Bring On The Holidays' and 'Can't Wait For Christmas' featuring Relient K was released in 2017 under the name 'Light Of Christmas'. Critical reception ''Christmas in Diverse City'' garnered a positive reception from music critics. At ''CCM Magazine'', Grace S. Aspinwall rated the album four stars and called the album "a fun-filled romp through holiday magic." ''Heaven on My Mind'' is the tenth studio album by American singer-songwriter tobyMac. The album was announced on January 10, 2025, and was released on March 7, 2025 on Forefront Records and Capitol CMG. The album's first single, "Nothin' Sweeter", reached No. 6 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Christian Songs chart, and spent nine weeks at No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart. Background ''Heaven on My Mind'' is inspired partially by the death of tobyMac's son, Truett McKeehan. The song "Goodbye (For Gabe)" is a tribute to his touring member and occasional studio collaborator, Gabe Patillo, who died of cancer in April of 2024. ''Life After Death'' is the ninth studio album by American Christian singer TobyMac, released on August 19, 2022, on ForeFront Records. It is his sixth album to top the ''Billboard'' Christian Albums chart. The album's third single, " Help Is On the Way (Maybe Midnight)", peaked at No. 3 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. Background TobyMac claimed that this was his most emotional album that he ever recorded. In October 2019, his eldest son Truett died after an accidental drug overdose.
