Tjøme or Kirkebygda is a village in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located in the central part of the island of Tjøme, about south of the city of Tønsberg. The village of Bjørnevåg lies about to the south, the village of Ormelet lies about to the southeast, the village of Hulebakk lies about to the east-northeast, the village of Grimestad lies about to the north-northeast, and the village of Svelvik lies about to the north. The village has a population (2023) of 2,879 and a population density of . Tjøme Church is located in the village centre. The village also has a library, grocery stores, gas station, schools, and other businesses. The village was the administrative centre of the old Tjøme Municipality which existed from 1838 until 2018 when it became part of Færder Municipality. Tjøme Municipality
Tjøme () is a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The island municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2018. The area is now part of Færder Municipality. The administrative centre was the village of Tjøme. Other villages in Tjøme included Bjørnevåg, Grimestad, Hulebakk, Ormelet, Solvang, Sundene, and Svelvik. At the time of its dissolution in 2017, the municipality was the 417th largest by area out of the 426 municipalities in Norway. Tjøme was the 212th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 4,928. Tjøme Church
Tjøme Church () is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It is located in the Tjøme (village), village of Tjøme. It is the church for the Tjøme parish which is part of the Tønsberg domprosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Tunsberg. The stone and brick church was built in a long church design in 1867 using plans drawn up by the architect Anders Thorød. The church seats about 320 people.
