Tiruvottiyur
Tiruvottriyur (Thiruvottiyur or TVT) is a neighbourhood in North Chennai, administered by the Greater Chennai Corporation. It is part of the Tondiarpet division, located to the north of Chennai. It is one of the fifteen administrative zones in the Greater Chennai Corporation. The zone is called Zone 1 (Tiruvottriyur). Tiruvottriyur has industrial units, trading activity, and nearby fishing hamlets. The area is easily accessible by Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) buses from across the city and has a bus terminus. The area is also served by the Tiruvottiyur railway junction of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. As of 2011, the neighbourhood had a population of 249,446. Tiruvottiyur (Chennai Suburban Railway)
Tiruvottiyur railway station is one of the railway station of the Chennai Central–Gummidipoondi section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhood of Tiruvottiyur, a suburb of Chennai, and is located 9 km north of Chennai Central railway station. It has an elevation of 7 m above sea level. History The lines at the station were electrified on 13 April 1979, with the electrification of the Chennai Central–Gummidipoondi section. Services Daily regular EMU services are available up to Gummidipoondi, Sullurpeta, Ennore in the north and Chennai central in the south. Tiruvottiyur Taluk
Tiruvottiyur taluk is a taluk of the city district of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The centre of the taluk is the neighbourhood of Tiruvottiyur. The headquarters of the taluk is Tondiarpet division. Tiruvottiyur, Ennore, Kathivakkam, Manali, Manali New Town are some of the important areas that falls under the jurisdiction of Tiruvottiyur taluk. The taluk is carved out from Madhavaram taluk to form new taluk in Tiruvallur district in 2014. On 4 January 2018, Chennai district was increased by annexing Tiruvottiyur taluk. Ennore
Ennore, also spelt , is a neighbourhood in Chennai, India. Ennore is situated on a peninsula and is bounded by the Kosasthalaiyar River, Korttalaiyar River, Ennore Creek and the Bay of Bengal. The creek separates south Ennore from the north Ennore which covers major portions of North Chennai Thermal Power Station and Ennore Port. Chennai District, formerly known as Madras district, is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the smallest and the most densely populated district in the state.
