Timbío
Timbio is a town and municipality in the Cauca Department, Colombia. Timbio is a municipality located at a distance of 16 km south of Popayán, the Department’s capital city. The hispanic foundation of Timbio took place on November 1, 1535 where Captains Juan de Ampudia and Pedro Añasco, following orders of Sebastian de Belalcázar, had build a church for the commemoration of the Christian holiday of ALL SAINTS, which was close to the site where the Spanish conquistadors Conquistadors (, ) or conquistadores (; ; ) were Spanish Empire, Spanish and Portuguese Empire, Portuguese colonizers who explored, traded with and colonized parts of the Americas, Africa, Oceania and Asia during the Age of Discovery. Cauca Department
Cauca Department (, ) is a department of Southwestern Colombia. Located in the southwestern part of the country, facing the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Valle del Cauca Department to the north, Tolima Department to the northeast, Huila Department to the east, and Nariño Department to the south. Putumayo and Caqueta Departments border the southeast portion of Cauca Department as well. It covers a total area of , the 13th largest in Colombia. Its capital is the city of Popayán. The offshore island of Malpelo belongs to the department. It is located in the southwest of the country, mainly in the Andean and Pacific regions (between 0°58′54″N and 3°19′04″N latitude, 75°47′36″W and 77°57′05″W longitude) plus a tiny part ( Piamonte) in the Amazonian region. The municipalities of Colombia are decentralized subdivisions of the Colombia, Republic of Colombia. Municipalities make up most of the departments of Colombia, with 1,104 municipality, municipalities (''municipios'').
