Tidwell Prairie is an unincorporated community in Robertson County, Texas, United States. Tidwell Prairie is eight miles northeast of Calvert. The community was founded after the Civil War by residents of Owensville; it was most likely named after Tidwell's Creek. Tidwell Prairie had two schools in 1942 and a church and a school in the 1970s and 1980s. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. Calvert is a city in Robertson County, Texas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 962. It is located approximately halfway between Waco and Bryan-College Station at the intersection of Texas State Highway 6 and Farm to Market Roads 1644 and 979, on the Southern Pacific line nine miles north of Hearne in west central Robertson County.
