Thálie Award
The Czech ''Actors' Association'' has presented its annual Thalia Awards (Czech: Ceny Thálie) since 1993. The award is named after Thalia, the muse of comedy. The 2016 ceremony was broadcast by Czech Television and radio station Český rozhlas Dvojka. Czech ( ; ), historically known as Bohemian ( ; ), is a West Slavic language of the Czech–Slovak group, written in Latin script. Ivan Trojan
Ivan Trojan (born 30 June 1964) is a Czech people, Czech actor, widely considered to be one of the greatest Czech actors of all time. With four Czech Lion Award for Best Actor in Leading Role, Czech Lions for Best Actor in a Leading Role, he has also won two for Czech Lion Award for Best Supporting Actor, his supporting roles in ''Seducer'' and ''One Hand Can't Clap'', making him the most awarded performer at the Czech Lion Awards. Dagmar Pecková
Dagmar Pecková (born 4 April 1961) is a Czech operatic mezzo-soprano. Born in the Medlešice district of Chrudim, Pecková studied singing at the Prague Conservatory. She then became part of the young artist's program at the Semperoper in Dresden in 1985. After two years in the program she was made a principal artist at that house in 1987. In 1988 she was appointed to the Berlin State Opera where she was a principal artist for many years. František Němec (actor)
František Němec (born 9 August 1943) is a Czech actor, dubber, and theater pedagogue. Education and career Němec studied acting at Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, DAMU from 1960 to 1964 and has been teaching there since 1982. He went on to work at Městská divadla pražská, where he stayed until 1982. That year, he received an offer from theatre director Miroslav Macháček to take on the titular role in William Shakespeare, Shakespeare's ''Hamlet'' at the National Theatre (Prague), National Theatre in Prague. He remains a member of the National Theatre's drama company to this day. In 1998, Němec won a Thalia Awards, Thalia Award for Drama – Men. In 2021, he received the František Filipovský Award for long-term acting mastery in dubbing, and a year later, the Thalia Award for Lifetime Achievement. Iva Janžurová (born 19 May 1941) is a Czech actress. She attended school in České Budějovice and in 1963, she graduated from the Faculty of Theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In 1964, she became the main member of Vinohrady Theatre and since 1988 has been a member of the National Theatre in Prague. Lubomír Lipský (19 April 1923 – 2 October 2015) was a Czech actor. He was known primarily for his comedic roles and also established himself as a voice actor. He was an active actor until the end of his life, playing over 300 film and stage roles. His brother was the film director Oldřich Lipský and he played in most of his brother's films. Eva Urbanová
Eva Urbanová (born 20 April 1961) is a Czech operatic soprano who has had an active international career since 1987. She has been a principal artist at the National Theatre in Prague since 1990 and has appeared as a guest artist at many of the world's best opera houses, including La Scala in Milan and the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Josef Somr (14 April 1934 – 16 October 2022) was a Czech actor. He was noted for starring in the Oscar-winning 1966 film '' Closely Watched Trains'', as well as in '' The Joke''. Early life Somr was born in Vracov, Czechoslovakia, on 14 April 1934. He studied at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, graduating in 1956.
