Thurston Glacier
Thurston Glacier is a glacier about long which drains the south-eastern slopes of Mount Siple on Siple Island. The glacier trends eastward and then east-north-eastward to reach the northern shore of the island. It was mapped by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and United States Navy aerial photography, 1959–65. Discovery and naming The glacier was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Thomas R. Thurston, a United States Antarctic Research Program (USARP) meteorologist at Byrd Station in 1965. Thurston Community College is a Mixed-sex education, co-educational secondary school and sixth form located in Thurston, Suffolk, Thurston, Suffolk, England. Louis Leon Thurstone (May 29, 1887 – September 29, 1955) was an American pioneer in the fields of psychometrics and psychophysics. He conceived the approach to measurement known as the law of comparative judgment, and is well known for his contributions to factor analysis. Hawkedon is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk (district), West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located around south-south-west of Bury St Edmunds, the parish also contains the hamlet of Thurston End, and in 2005 had a population of 120. Thurston's Hall
Thurston's Hall was a major English billiards, billiards and snooker venue between 1901 and 1955 in Leicester Square, London. The hall was in the premises of John Thurston (inventor), Thurston & Co. Ltd which relocated to Leicester Square in 1901. The building was bombed in 1940 and reopened under a new name, Leicester Square Hall, and new management in 1947. The venue closed in 1955 and the building was demolished to make way for an extension to Fanum House. The Hall was used for many important billiards and snooker matches, including 12 World Snooker Championship finals between 1930 and 1953. It was also the venue of the 1927 World Snooker Championship, first World Snooker Championship match in November 1926. The hall was sometimes referred to as "Thurston's Grand Hall". Thurston Gardens are the botanical gardens of Fiji. They used to be known as the Suva Botanical Gardens but its name was changed in honour of the fifth Governor of Fiji, John Bates Thurston, Sir John Bates Thurston, who was Governor from February 1888 to March 1897. Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) is a public school district in Washtenaw County, Michigan. It serves Ann Arbor and parts of the following townships: Ann Arbor Township, Lodi, Northfield, Pittsfield, Salem, Scio, Superior, and Webster. History In 1825, the city's first public school opened.
